Hi I set imgburn to burn the dvd through dvd fab and followed every step of the guide. Sadly the exact same thing happened, dvd fab spat the dvd back out 2-3 seconds after inserting.

As a workaround, why don't you try ripping to a hard disk folder or an ISO and then use Img to burn that to the blank?

Your Litey has a SATA interface, but is on a scsi controller.
Is this on a PCI SATA/RAID card?...SATA I or SATA II ?
Is the Litey configured as IDE in your bios?

Do you have any packet burning software installed, notably Nero InCD, Roxio, Sonic ?

Could you please check your I/O settings in Fab.
Common Settings > DVD > Read

Please try SPTI. If no go, try Auto, if still no go, maybe you can force ASPI.

I really prefer 1 click tools but the above method is what I am currently doing until I can fix the problem, if it can be fixed.

I have nero oem 6 express installed, aswell as imgburn, dvd fab and convertxtodvd4
I dont have incd, roxio or sonic.

Could you please check your I/O settings in Fab.

I'm almost certain this has to be some sort of I/O conflict and that it's got something to do with VSO.

Navigate to device manager > scroll down to VSO (at or near the bottom), expand it and delete/uninstall all instances of patin-couffin driver.
Open Fab and be certain Img is selected and that the I/O mode is either SPTI or Auto.
What happens?

If this fails, maybe you're willing to do a clean uninstall of Fab. Delete all traces of Fab, run a registry cleaner such as
CCleaner and be certain also to delete the Old Prefetch data.
Now install Fab 6.0.2.5 and do NOT install VSO...be sure this remains unticked.

Sorry, you should not be having to do all this just to get the software to run.

I was asking the other questions just to cover all bases. I seriously doubt any configurations problems since outside burn apps are working.
Still, it's a possibility.

How is it cabled? Is it connected directly to the motherboard?

To enter the bios, you have to reboot and probably press the delete key repeatedly or perhaps the F2 key.
It will say Enter SetUp.
Don't change anything, just look for info at this point.
Along the top you should see Advanced > then something like IDE Configuration and probably options: Enhanced, Compatible and Disable.
Below this you should see something like
Configure SATA as
and here you should have options: IDE, RAID, AHCI.
Hopefully, this is IDE


While we're here...do you have the motherboard specs..or model?

It's free, won't do anything and will simply display info for you.
It does display the info in your web browser, but does not transmit any info to a server...so it's safe.

Just please do not copy & paste any sensitive info such as serial numbers, etc., on the web as these will be displayed as well.

This utility will yield tons of info and allow you to benchmark a great deal of hardware.

One thing I noticed missing is the amount of RAM. From the specs, it seems to be 1Gb.

I remember a user with a similar problem but not exactly so and the problem went away when he put in more memory. Apparently his problem was caused by a lack of resources.

It may be worth a try and reasonable inexpensive at your local computer shop. Don't buy genuine HP/Compaq RAM as they know how to charge like wounded bulls.

From your computer link, I gather you are either in Oz or NZ?

Reformatting did not work, still have the same problem

Uninstall it from device manager, reboot and let windows install the native bus master controller. I don't know if that is the problem, but I know the NVIDIA controllers are problematic.
