Errors reading and problems copying.

I have been trying for a couple of days to copy Scooby Doo The Mystery Begins to share with my grandsons. Each time I try it tells me "error while reading", retrying and ignoring results in the same message in a moment. It will only progress if I tell it to ignore all Then it can analyze but when it goes to copy it gets slower and slower. When I recently stopped it it had done 10% after two and a half hours and the total time estimate had inched up to 17 1/2 hours! I am not very computer savvy and cannot find the DVD FAb report for these last two days (just from over a year ago), would that be because I never got to the burning phase? I am totally bewildered.

The simplest and easiest initial steps are:

1). Clean the disc regardless of how pristine it appears
2). Disable PathPlayer (Common Settings in Fab)...or enable it, depending on your current settings.

This also could be just a bad disc.
The fact that it may play ok doesn't exclude this.

Thanks for the answer. I cleaned the disk but I can't figure out where to find the Common window. I put the clean disk in but it is still having to ignore errors so maybe its a bad disk. But I could use help finding the Common Settings.

Thanks for your help. I thought the problem was resolved because when I tried to copy again it zipped right through the analysis with no error messages and had no problem copying at first. But after copying 10% I again got an error while reading message. I clicked ignore all and it began slowing down and moved from saying I had 4 hours to go till now it says over 11 hours. So maybe it is hopeless.

It is starting to sound more like a bad disc.
Did you run through the tips guide?...the link is above in post #2.

Any chance you can exchange the dvd and give it another shot?

Hi joyceww
To tell if you have a bad disc please download VSO Inspector found here http://www.vso-software.fr/products/.../inspector.php and install it.

Put the disc in your drive and as the movie starts playing pause it, but do not exit out, now launch VSO Inspector, click scan and let it scan the disc.
If you have errors then you have a bad disc.
