    I think Ccleaner fixed the problem.

    I will check it out more thoroughly later today.

    I had cleaned my registry -- with Registry Mechanic, which is not free.

    RM did not solve the problem.

    But I think Ccleaner probably did.

      I hope it did, please let us know, your feedback could help others. As a side note if you log on to your computer routinely as administrator and a bit of malware slips by your protection it will have administrator rights as well. It can change system files and ravage your system. IMHO it is better to run in a user account with limited access, it’s easy enough to switch users when needed.

        It does seem to be behaving.

        I am glad to have downloaded ccleaner.

        I never bothered with a user account since I am the only user. But I will set one up and see how that goes.

          Glad you got it going! That user account is going to be a pain if you didn't do it early on, not all programs will cross over.
