      I do everything as administrator.

      I did a windows update a while ago. I have reinstalled 8.1.6.3.

I will see if the problem recurs. If it does, I will post the logs.

We need more information, such as when the crash happens. And the DVDFab internal log, if it runs long enough to write one. If the crash report box opens, complete it and send it in.

The log file is evidently too large to attach. So I will paste in the entries for today.

At the point where I select the output path I get the message, "DVDFAB has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Update the driver for your video card, let us know if that helps.

DVDFab is the all-in-one software package for copying B has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I keep my drivers up-to-date with PC Pitstop Driver Alert. I ran it and updated one driver: Realtek High Definition Audio.

I updated that driver and now all drivers are up to date.

                8.1.6.3 crashed again:

Installing as administrator is not the same permission levels as logging on to your computer as administrator. Try it you might like it!

I would try it if I knew how. I just reinstalled and saw no option to install as administrator.

Save the installer to the HDD and right click on it rather than double clicking and you will see the option.

I looked around and saw the suggestion of right-clicking on the install file.

I did this, but saw no "install as administrator" option.

Are you use this option exists on Windows XP?

Yeah, I guess you are right. It's been so long I'd forgotten about XP. So we need to try something else. Uninstall DVDFab, download CCleaner it's free and clean the registry. You may have to run it more than once to remove all references to DVDFab and fix all the registry errors. Then download a fresh installer from this site and try again. Sorry I didn't reply sooner.

By the way 8.1.6.3 runs fine on my XP SP3 laptop fully updated.
