DVDFab doesn't read from source DVD

While I insert the media into DVD drive (E), pop up windows "open drive source E: xxxx" shows up for a 2,3 seconds and leaves the source
empty. FYI, the DVD media is not protected.

    Here is the log.

    Hi rona0628
Please try the latest version found here http://www.dvdfab.com/mlink/download.php?g=DVDFAB9_BETA
or even the latest of version 8 here http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm

You may have to disable path player in Fab settings since there is no protection on the disc, just remember to put it back to always enabled.
    Hope this helps
    CBR929

Edit: You can also install ImgBurn to copy the disc to your Hdd and then burn to disc using ImgBurn since there is no protection on the disc.

      Thanks for your reply.
I've tried with 9.0.1.8 and 8.2.2.6 but with no change.
I've also disabled path player but it doesn't work.

        dvd not protected

        HI

Looks like you are trying to copy an unprotected dvd. You should go to the 8 fab version and check on the green check mark in upper right hand corner. Then go down on the left to protection and click on the dvd section under protection. Uncheck all of the protection features. Believe it will then copy your unprotected disk. Be sure to recheck those features for future use.
        Good luck

          Hi

I tried with unchecked all of the protections options but with no luck.

Is this a previously decrypted disc or simply an unprotected disc?
I'm asking because I suspect the authoring process used to make this "unprotected" disc does not conform to standard dvd structure
            Translattion...Fab will most likely fail.

In any event, Fab should have no issues handling a previously decrypted disc, but it is nevertheless, overkill.
Why attempt to decrypt an unprotected disc?

Will the disc play in your pc or dvd player?

This is a shot in the dark, but you could try to open and burn a disc in Write Data mode. I doubt it'll open though.

I'm just guessing here since I have no clue as to the source disc, but I'd use other software such as nero, etc. or try Img if it's dvd compliant.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Is't an external drive? If so, please try to connect to PC directly without USB hub, also you can try to upgrade the drive enclosure firmware if there is.
