Suggest for S/L DVD's you use Taiyo Yuden -Rs, and for D/L discs, use Verbatim with the AZO label on the package, +Rs.
Would also suggest you D/L Imgburn ( a freebie) as you'll find the results far superior to the included VSO burn engine in Fab.
