It works for the first 18, why not the 19th?

Every time this has happened to me when I play it on the DVD player I notice some artifacts around the time the problem happens. Go to about 50% and watch from 50% to 60%. Watch carefully. So far only 1 disk has been a manufacturing defect. All the others have been dirt or scratches.

One last question, if I just let it sit and run, will it eventually finish copying or will the time remaining just keep getting bigger and bigger?
