Try slowing down the burn speed to 4x. use imgburn as your burn engine
also try using better media such as verbatim.

I do burn at 4X, always do. Burn takes about 14-15 minutes.
The Ridata's i've been using for the last year, this issue started in mid spindle, after i changed the drive out. Sony & TDK's i prefer, but theyn have just bbeen too expensive.
The burn engine i'm currently using is the DVD Fab burning engine. I have Nero, but can't get it to burn through Fab. I've been using Fab's engine for a long time; never have used imgburn

Try clicking common settings and slect default
setting in the lower left corner. Restart dvdfab
          and try burning again.

If you want your problem to go away please change blank media ridata and Memorex are the same disks and the cheapest out their. If you go back 10 years in posts on the forum its always these 2 brands that give everyone problems. If you want to use img burn theirs a setting in it that's controls the laser power does a test burn for the brand of blanks you are using and adjusts the lasers power for that disk and MAY make it work with your disks.Use the slowest burn speed for these cheap disks as burning slower causes less errors.

Actually Memorex uses a potpourri of brands including: CMC, Ritek, Moser Baer, Mitsubishi, Prodisc, Ricoh, Infodisc & Moser Baer. I've never used Memorex because you never know what you'll get.

And yes, i know Ritek makes Ridata and yes i know they are cheaper disks, but i have burned a LOT of Ridata's without seeing any issues. I wouldn't keep using these disks if they were all coasters.

This particular issue seems like something other than disk issue. Especially considering that once burnt, they will play on standalone players as well as a Windows 7 machine. It's the Windows 10 machine that won't read the burnt movie disk at all. And this didn't start until i put the new burner in. I'm thinking more and more that it's the drive (Samsung SH-224FB - April 2015) and yes, i did update the firmware. Just don't understand why.

As i said before, i burn at 4X. While even on great blanks you can burn faster, a slower burn has always been a more quality copy.
              I appreciate your suggestions

Drives have firm wear tested with certain brands of disks that are recommended by the drives company's and listed by model and sometimes firmware updates and posted at most drives internet sights for each drive.
Your old drive has different disks tested to work with it than your new drive and their lies the problem in most cases.Just because a burned disk will play on different players doesn't mean it will last. Some go bad in a few years cheap disks don't pay you may need to learn this the hard way.Slower burns burn the pits deeper in the disk and last longer with less errors during write.
Because their is so much history on using cheap disks here I strongly recommend changing your blank media type to better media then you will see your problem go away.

                  I tried that.
Only thing i can figure next is to try a different burner drive and see what happens. And yeah i know, better media too.

                  thanks for the suggestions
