There is clearly a problem for a small subset of users regarding disc I/O control, which seems to have begun with v6.2.1.8 or 6.2.2.0. There was a problem with ASPI in 6.2.1.8 which was fixed in 6.2.2.0 for most users and I strongly suspect that the fix may be triggering some of this. Why it is a problem only for a few is a mystery. There is some common factor among the OS settings or drivers, other installed software or a windows update or driver that makes the problem manifest itself on some installations. It is my suggestion that those of you experiencing this (in this thread and the other one discussing this) share information and try to find the common factor. Perhaps all could download a system info utility, all run it and post the results. No question there is some common factor.

Have you guys having troubles investigated Microsoft’s C++ redistributable package? It installs runtime components and libraries that just might help you out.How to post the internal log

Yep, installed on all 3 machines, made no difference.
I can confirm that the problems started for me at 6.2.2.0. When I revert to 6.2.1.8 on all machines, everything works properly.
Have tried clean uninstall, cccleaner, regseeker, the whole gamut of tricks.

Illustration of what is happening
I thought that I'd put this together so all could see what is happening.
This is happening aon all 3 of my machines, XP Home, XP Pro, Vista Ultimate. All with current updates, all have had clean uninstall, cccleaner, regseeker & reinstall of Fab 6 & Fab 7 and C++ redistributable installed.
BTW: Version 6.2.2.0 does exactly the same thing as Version 7, will not scan the source. I can only come to the conclusion that something got broken in Fab then. All ISO's were created with Fab Ver 6.2.1.8
I cannot find anything in common between the three. In fact the XP Pro machine is a clean install of XP SP3 with all updates applied only, nothing else installed, not even a burner.
All images were captured on the same XP Pro machine.
Version 6.2.1.8 select the ISO and all is good.
Version 7 - Attempt to open the SAME ISO and is starts scanning.
The scan completes and NOTHING is found !!!

I'm running Fab7 and Passkey on an XP Pro system with NOD32 AV and Windoze Firewall, and have experienced NO problems at all... everything is working as it should.
Sorry, Grunon and GregiBoy, but I suspect there is an issue with your systems.

DC, I don't believe you that it is our systems.
1. It is occuring on ALL 3 of my systems (XP Pro, XP Home & Vista Ultimate)
2. The XP Pro machine was a totally clean build.
3. Others are having the same problem, not only Grunon & I."Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."- Benjamin Franklin 1706-1790

If you are trying already decrypted ISO files then go into common settings protection and uncheck everything and then give it a try again. Not sure if it helps but we do suggest members to change pathplayer when they have issues and since your issue is with an already decrypted ISO then you not need to remove the protection again

I also have tried it on three computers that all three have different OS and the other two are used for school work only and have no software on them that would conflict.
The do not even live in the same house as mine.
If it was mine or GregiBoys system why is it only the last two betas that will not work.
I have used DVDFab since version 2 .
There are way too many post of members having unexplained problems for it to be every ones fault except the software.

Been there done that!!!!
It will also not recognise a commercial DVD in any of the drives.
As I have said previously, I have tried it with commercial DVD's, unencrypted folders, unencrypted ISO's. It will just not recognise ANY source.
Pathplayer tried in all three possible states. All protection schema OFF/ON.
Any other suggestions???
