Problem ripping "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs"

Ok I have figured out how to rip DVD's to a file instead of an ISO. So...Do I need the Audio_TS folder? Like if I only burned the Video_TS would it still be an exact copy of the original DVD? No lose of sound/video?

Also, what do you guys think the best file extension would be for the best quality. I tried .AVI and wasn't satisfied.

The AUDIO_TS folder (even though it's empty) is normally required on DVDs to maintain backwards compatibility with older set-top players. So the short answer to that one is, Yes, you do need the AUDIO_TS folder.

If you are talking about burning to a blank DVD, the format you get after ripping is the best possible quality from the rip, and altering that (except by making an ISO) will degrade your picture and sound.

If you are talking ripping for a mobile device, you'll be limited by whatever format your mobile device will play (normally not the as-ripped format).

For the video format files, I was gonna copy some of my anime DVD's and upload them to my Daily Motion account and Mega Upload so others can enjoy them as well. I know it is like uber hard to find anime in good quality for download these days so I wanted to rip them in the best format possible. Since my laptop can play nearly all media file types it doesn't matter which one I choose, I just want the one that preserves the best audio/video.

Also...Could I copy/paste the Audio_TS folder from a different movie to place with the Video_TS folder I have? Example: I have the Video_TS folder of Movie A but no Audio_TS...Could I copy/paste the Audio_TS folder from Movie B into the main folder of Movie A to give Movie A both an Audio and Video_TS folder? Since Audio_TS is empty anyway...
