    Unable to detect writing media

When I try to burn a movie using a DVD-9 disk, it says, "Detecting writing data in drive D..." and then it fails with the following message, "Task_1 failed! Error=100"

Using brand new Verbatim DVD+R DL media.

Tried other discs, all the same. This happens on both the beta and newest official release. Drivers update on drive.

Using the write data mode or full disc? This is a rip already on your hdd?

It doesn't appear that the burn process ever started.
        Are these verbs still usable?

In addition to my fellow mods' questions and suggestions, this may be resolved with switching burn engnies to Img.
You'll find Img to be more reliable, configurable and much less problematic.
        Most of "us" use it.

Here is an excellent video tutorial which includes a download link and other tips.

It is a DVD already ripped to HDD. I tried with ImgBurn and it fails at the same stage as well. Media is still good and burn never begun. Also note that despite info suggesting that it is 7.0.1.0, it is indeed 7.0.1.2

What media are you using, and exactly how are you trying to initiate the write to DVD?

The error message indicates that the HD file isn't being opened, but I suspect that's being triggered by the media not being read properly...

              I think so too.
Did you attempt to burn with Img as a standalone app...outside Fab?
Has this MID ever burned successfully in this burner with any software?

Media I am using is: Verbatim 8.5GB 8X - 10X DVD+R DL 15 Packs Cake Box Disc Model 95484. Haven't tried burning the media outside of dvdfab yet. I'll try that later after I get off from work. I've burned movies in dvdfab with DVD5, but this is the first time I am trying to DL disks. Doing a 1:1 burn, full disk @ 100% quality.

Try using write data mode and not the full disc mode for files already ripped to hdd.

So you don't violate the General Policies, you may want to just tell us whether you used DVDFab or not and, if so, what version.

Sorry about that... I'll try to phrase my questions so they're not so apt to lead people astray...

It was with DVDFab, and I doubt it is an issue with the HDD files as I can burn them on a DVD5.

I still get an error that "Process Failed!"
