You just never know about this stuff, sometimes it just seems like voodoo...
    So true.

Recently I was trying to backup a 1992 release and DVD Fab 6.2.1 nor 7.0.1 would open it. Tried PassKey 7 ?? and it would not open it. Rebooted computer and tried again with same results. Tried an old version of DVD Stink and it opened it right away. Hours later I tried again with Fab 6.2.1 and it opened it right away.

Sometimes I think Windows just wants to be very annoying.

      Bwahahahahahaha.
Was that a typo or intentional?
      Very funny either way

Let's just remove the "Sometimes" on this one...

          Yes.
Save to your hard drive and open/install the software from there.

              MAINEMAN,
YOU ARE MY NEW BEST FRIEND AND I LOVE YOU!!!! I installed 6.0 version and it finally started to work. All hail maineman! you are the best!!

*but I can burn a copy on my comp but everytime I try to burn one on a blank disc (Sony DVD-R) it says no media detected in drive I, Please insert a compatible media to start the write process. Not sure why because I've burn stuff before in that drive. I even tried like 20 different discs. Sorry I'm not the best at this whole burning dvd thing.

I think I figured it out. I looked in my Log folder and this was there
2010-04-05 14:32:33 Info No disc in drive.
                2010-04-05 14:27:21 Info Disc (DVD-ROM) not emtpy.
                2010-04-05 14:27:19 Info Compatible media types : DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-R, CD-RW
2010-04-05 14:27:18 Info Drive has IDE-ATAPI physical interface
So I have DVD-R but it shows DVD+R. So I am assuming DVD-R is not compatible. Tell me if I'm wrong

Hey sarbare78 congrats on your success so far...
                  and aww shucks...thanks!

Nah, your burner should handle the blank media just fine. It's not the burner, but VSO...Fab's default burn engine.
Most of us recommend and use Imgburn, particularly when the user experiences problems.

This won't be tough to do.
                  Click on this link:

It contains a link to a really excellent and simple video tutorial and also a link to download Imgburn (it's the second link in the sticky thread).

Hang in there, you're almost home free.
Any problems, as always, someone is usually around...

As you have been told MANY, MANY times before, ditch the CRAP media that you are persisting in trying to use and your problems may disappear.

Well since apparently you guys want to delete my respond. Let me put it nicely. Gee you don't have to be so rude. I was just letting maineman know I got it to work with the DVD+R.

Also, let me put it nicely!!!

Any more posts like your last one that was deleted, and you will earn yourself a holiday from this forum.

You have been told many times to use decent media.

If you continue using the media that you are and ignore this advice, please do not expect assistance on this forum.

This thread is way too long and very hard for anyone to follow.

Can a mod in this sub-forum please close it?
