    7.0.6.0 and 7.0.7.0 issues.

Hi folks, I'm having a bit of an issue here with the latest 2 versions. I've had DVDfab for a few years now and never had issues like this before. I can run the program through any dvd, new or old releases, it copies to my desktop, either full disc or customize "as usual" without any errors, then I copy to printable disc using Nero 9, no problem, but here's the catch......when I play it on my either dvd players, previews are there, main menu is there, choose to play movie, and it plays, watching counter on front of player, but no movie! When I press fast forward to see if it will bring in the picture it automatically stops the dvd player. This is really throwing me for a loop here, the fab has always showed me before if there was a problem or error while burning, I've only had these issues with 7060 and 7070, a few other movies I backed up, new releases that I needed to upgrade to these two versions, would only copy full disc and not customize? When I used customize it again would only give me the scene selection screen and no movie. All this with absolutely no errors showing! Can someone fill me in on whats going on. Has microsoft planted a bug or something into my new system that will cause my Fab to malfunction without detection from my Fab program?
    Please help,
    sincerely,
    Scotty M.

Rip a movie to your hard drive and play it from there.
If it plays on the hard drive we know fab is not the problem.

    Post a burn log.

      Hi Scotty M

      Let's back up a bit.
First off, does it play ok when viewed from the hdd with a software player such as VLC?
If yes, does the "copied" disc play ok in your pc's burner?

Please post 1-2 burn logs from the "problem" discs.

      The default location is:
      C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
(for Win 7, it'll be in Documents)

Hey Gruñón, I see we're "on the same page" here.
      Shocking, eh?...
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Yes Maineman I think we have repeated the same instructions 30,000 times on the forum between us and the other mods. .

Most likely it's your DVD player issue, mishandling of the DVD disc or content (there numerous reasons for it, like new media or, most likely, updated codec that Fab uses and your DVD player have no idea about, since it's off-line). Usual cure for it - a firmware update. Please go to your DVD player manufacturer's website and search for new firmware for your model, install following their instructions and try again.

Hi there, here is I hope what you needed to see, not very computer savy when it comes to terms etc. Plain and simple talk is the only way with this fella. lol Anyway, I tried playing the folder on my computer, and its the same as my disc, preveiws and start menu, and thats it. When I press play it starts, then automatically goes back to start screen and menu selection, everytime. Same thing when I play it on my hard drive too. The particular movie I'm trying at the moment is called "Rendition", if that means anything, thanks for help guys, appreciate it

              Hey again Scotty,

Unfortunately, what you posted is not the burn log.
We need to look at the portion where the burning process actually occurred.
Hang on and I'll show you.

I don't use VSO, Fab's default burn engine, but you probably do.
I suspect we are about to tell you to change to Img (like most of us).

Yours will look something like this:
(Just copy and paste 1-2 logs, not the entire contents of the folder, it'll be too large).

I'd be trying ImgBurn instead of Nero. Most of us here regard it as the best burning engine and it is FREE.

Also, the RITEK disks you are using are CRAP. Use either Verbatim or TY.

No surprise, I'm with gregiBoy here.
Please download and install Img (there is a download link in the tutorial)

Here's a great video tutorial that will show you how to set up Img with Fab:

Definitely switch media to verbs or Taiyo Yuden, but
you probably have some Riteks left.
Might as well give them a whirl with Img...either that or use 'em for skeet practice....

Seriously, after trying 1 of the Ritek's with Img, post a burn log.

You said this is happening using Customize.

Could you post a screenshot please.

Hi again Maineman, thanks so much for the help, I'm going to try and get the time to figure on this by some time tomorrow, I'll try and get you some answers. After I wrote earlier, I backed up 2 other movies and it copied one without flaw, and the other wouldn't play movie on full or customize, just the previews, and main screen, with this double burning I'll use up whats left of the ridatas I have left! I haven't had a moments trouble with them so far, but they were the only printables I could get at a decent price at the time, only 15-20 left! lol I have faith, this is the best program I have ever used, and also, I'm just getting used to a new HP PC I bought a couple of months ago with windows 7 in place of XP, that was a change it self, so wish me luck, thanks again, Scotty M.

                              Hi Scotty M.
If I may add something also, this is pulled from your logs

I think your drive may be in PIO mode I am not sure of this as I do not use Nero, Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right and restart.
Give it a try and post back
