For a start, DVD Fab 6 is way out of date. Please use the latest version 7 which is noted in this forum and report back results.

As a standard operating procedure, please check this forum for the latest versions and download and install and use the latest version before posting about failures otherwise support will not be forthcoming.

This is because there are continual attempts by studios to copy protect titles and Fab continually updates to circumvent these attempts.

Get this concept implanted and then you will understand the process.

This is not to say that this is your problem but it will eliminate at least one factor.

I've upgraded to DVD Fab 7, and ripped Avatar, I'm attempting to burn it now, I'll tell you how it goes in about 20 min.

I got the same error. I checked to see, and it will let me watch the rip on my laptop, but it just won't burn. I think there is a problem with ImgBurn, the setting I have on ImgBurn, or it may be my discs. The discs are name brand, and brand new. But thanks for your advice to update.

In addition to my colleague's excellent advice, brand names generally mean very little when referring to media .
Your DL media MBIPG101-R10-65 is actually made by Moser Baer.

Moser Baer has made some decent media and some real garbage and unless you're familar with a specific MID, it's real crap shoot.
(MID = media ID, as displayed above in bold).
Add to this the problem of generally, poor firmware support for much of Moser Baer's media and you've got a recipe for disaster.

Your problems likely will disappear with switching DL media to Verbatim +R DL.
Please look on the spindle wrapper for made in Singapore (or MIS in forum jargon).
This is really the only DL media we recommend
The made in India (MII) media however, is not a bad second choice.

Look for the sales. If you need the names of retailers, let us know

In other words, you'd recommend me going back to the Verbatim discs? Also, some retailers would be wonderful if you could recommend some. I've been buying from Amazon.com because none of my local stores carry anything other than 4.7GB DVD5 discs...

And do not use the lappy to rip/burn if you can avoid it. Lappys are not good for doing this.

I took a peek at your locale.
Sam's Club has had some excellent prices on the DL verbs, provided you have a membership and they have 'em in stock.
Newegg, Meritline, Supermediastore, Rima and Microcenter are all decent online retailers.

Also, for more brick & mortar retailers, Bestbuy sometimes has DL sales, Officemax, maybe Wallyworld, but haven't seen 'em here in Maine.
You can try some other local/national chain shops in your area too.

GregiBoy is right again....yes I know it's shocking isn't it?...lol
just kidding Greg...

Definitely invest in a decent external burner or an internal with an external enclosure.
Do not buy another slimline

Is your current burner in a Dell or Toshiba?
You should consider updating the firmware if it's available.
Be forewarned, if you don't know what you're doing or the flash goes badly, you can brick your burner

The only computer I own is my laptop, so it's all I can rip/burn with. My slimdrive is a Toshiba. But thanks for the info, I will head to Sam's tomorrow to see if they have any DL discs in stock. I've checked my local Walmart, and they didn't have any. Nor did Best Buy, or Circuit City.

I've tried 8x, 4x, and 2.4x I suppose I'll try 6x. I don't think it will help any though. At this point I think my best bet is to buy more Verbatim discs. =/

I've always used Verbatim DVD +R ever since Ridata went to crap years ago. I don't use the DL ones (I'm too cheap). Get them from newegg.com, the 4.7 100 pack is about 20 bucks with cheap or no shipping, the DL is about 6 times that for 100 last I checked. Never had a problem with the 4.7GB disks or the retailer.

I uninstalled ImgBurn and downloaded the newest version. Any chance someone know the correct settings? It went back to default settings and I remember last time I was told to change some stuff.
