I tried it three different ways and every time it gets to a cetain point and just locks the whole computer up. You have to push the start button until it shuts off and turn it back on. The same thing happened when I tried Transformers 2 and I haven't gotten it back yet to try it again. I have a newer HP computer running windows XP. I am guessing that it will be a few days before they think they have this one fixed so it will be some time before I get a chance to try again but if I do I will let you all know.

Do you have Pathplayer set to "Always enabled"? I've never seen Fab actually cause a computer to lock up even on failed rips, possible you have other problems. Installed any other software as of late? Changed any settings on your computer? If it's a shared computer is it possible someone else did? I just ripped Star Trek XI with no problems and done Transformers 2 when it was released without any problems.

I tried it with pathplayer enabled when needed and with it disabled and they both locked the computer up. I can try with path finder on always if you think that might work. With the pathplayer in enabled when needed it took about ten minuets for that first scanning to finish then I hit start and after a few seconds it locked up. With the pathplayer disabled and trying to do the main movie I got as far as hitting the 21 circle and headed for the start button and it locked up before I got there. There could be something messing with it I suppose but I have never had this problem except when trying to rip these two movies.

Thanks for responding I really appreciate it.

Well I just looked and see that there is a new version again. I have 6.1.2.5 now and I see there is 6.2.0.2 so I will give that one a try.

The default setting for Pathplayer is Always Enabled and is suggested for all if not most new releases, Older titles and some TV series the disabled setting seems to be the way to go. Always if one setting fails try the other but The "enable pathplayer when needed" is not recommened (it might work sometimes and other times not). Give the always enabled setting a shot and let us know what happens. It might take a bit longer for the initial scan but it should open both disc. Good luck and you're welcome.

AHH yes try the new version

I was able to make an iso file, but burning it in both dvdfab and nero was a disaster, l ruined 9 dvd's. Last two attempts worked but Chapter 9 is all blocky and crashes the player. Iso file plays perfectly on my computer.

Have pretty much given up, first time ever.

Sorry you're having problems. I suggest ImgBurn (it's free) and the link is in my sig which leads to a post by Troy512, he created a great video on how to set it up with Fab and to set the AWS (automatic write speed). watch it in hd for a much better viewing experience, (some tips he typed out in the video is small so look closely)

Thanks, I'll try that. I just got kind of worried that something was wrong with my DVD burner. Every other rip I've done up to now has been perfect.

ETA - If the iso plays perfect on my computer do you guys think that file is okay?

Sure, if no problems I would have no problem burning it. I think it may be burn speed related as to why you had problems. Of course burners are known to turn belly up at the snap of your fingers also, is this a laptop with the internal slimtype burner?

No, it's an internal drive on a tower. I did burn a music cd earlier to check it and it burned fine, and it does play movies when placed in the drive. It's only about a year or two old.
