Can not back up DVD Necromentia (US)

I've been a user for over 4 years -- and this is one the few movies I've had problems making a back up copy.... Can anyone help ?? I haven't changed any settings, (always used default settings) and I am using DVDFab 8.0.3.2 & also downloaded DVDFab Passkey 7 and still no luck !!! -- The program has a "Reading/Writing Error" at the Copying VTS_01_1.VOB about 3 minutes into the read process.. 9.83% I've tried cleaning and even a second DVD. Still no luck .... I'm lost..... Thanks for whatever advice you can give .

Is this error during the copy stage to the temp folder???
If so you can copy it to your hard drive, choose to ignore all errors, and then view it with VLC or MPC to see if it has any artifact or freezing before burning

OK I'll try... I chose ignore all errors and it continued copying to the hard drive -- but how do I view it with VLC or MPC ?? I don't know what those are or how to get to them !! It's continuing to copy but moving very slow.... Thanks

They are media players that will play all most any media file and they do not need any additional codes, you can find VLC here http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and MPC here http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/ . If you still have troubles give my friend maineman thread a read through http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=576

If you could before burning to disc post your logs to make sure that your drive is in the right mode the default location is:
        For Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
        or Vista C:\Users\User Name\Documents\DVDFab\Log
        or for XP C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
Please just attach your most resent log(s) and post right here.

I am thinking that your drive may be in PIO mode
There is nothing you can do while you are coping unless you cancel your current process, check your drives mode, and if it is in PIO mode you will have to reset it to DMA mode, and then start again.

I need to look at any recent burn logs with a completed burn.

I do not think you are in PIO mode as you would never be able to burn at these speeds. To make sure Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab.

I would also consider using better media to burn with either Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim discs the ones you are using are considered garbage, sorry

Can you also explain this 181m 48.66s: volume label TOY_STORY_3_RENTAL

I'm using HP DVD's (OK, I'll take your advice) but the program never ran this slow before I told it "to ignore all errors" .... Thanks again !! Toy Story 3 was purchased at Wal-Mart.....

Make sure to do this Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab.

You had read errors and after 6 CRC errors you drive will revert to PIO mode, your logs did not show it but you said you were getting errors.

So to be safe reset your DMA and you can also view the movie if you installed one of the other players I suggested to make sure it plays fine and then burn it, or burn it now it is up to you.
                          Glad it ripped for you
