DVD to Mobile: A/V Sync Issues Reporting

I have decided to start up this sticky so that A/V sync issues can be reported in a meaningful manner.

This will then give the Developers and Moderators a true picture of what the problems are, if any.

It is no good just saying "I have an A/V sync problem with Version 6.1.2.5" as A/V sync problems can be related to the procedure used, a specific disk, a specific profile or even individual settings within that profile.

Please do not report A/V sync issues unless you have first read my "Best Practice: DVD to Mobile" thread and are using either an ISO file or Hard Disk Folders as the source. The many reasons for this are explained in the above linked thread.

This is an example of the information required and the format in which to post it:-

    Version: DVD Fab 6.1.2.5
    Movie: Star Trek 2009
    Region: 4
    Disk Volume Name: STAR_TREK_XI_AU
    Title Chosen to Encode: 21
    Profile Used: generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy
    Resolution Chosen: 720 x 400
    Cropping: No Crop - Disabled
    Video Bitrate: 1100
Audio Codec & Bitrate: Audiocopy passthrough
Single Pass or 2 Pass: 2 Pass
Sync shift is: Static (same throughout) or dynamic (varies during playback)
Sync error is: Small (fraction of one second) or Large (several seconds or more)
    Playback Device: Samsung LA52A850 Television
    Playback using VLC: Same problem

Just copy and paste the above section in to your post and replace the example data with your own.

This thread is for this data ONLY so that it can be read easily and I will delete any extraneous data, comments or posts without warning.

          Didn't see any edit buttons...

In any case... Same problem with 6.2.0.5 & 5.1 Multichannel audio (forgot to use the desired audio track the first time around)

5.1 in XBOX 360 DVD to Mobile is not correct

I am posting to this thread even though my problem is not really an A/V sync issue at the request of the original poster of this thread.

              Version: DVD Fab 6.2.0.5
              Movie: Any Movie
              Region: 1
              Disk Volume Name: Any Movie
              Title Chosen to Encode: main
              Profile Used: xbox360.wmv.wma10
              Resolution Chosen: any
              Cropping: Crop - Automatic
Video Bitrate: any, but I usually choose 5000
              Audio Codec & Bitrate: WMA10 with 5.1
Single Pass or 2 Pass: doesn't matter, but I usually choose 2 Pass
Sync shift is: Static (same throughout)
Sync error is: Not really a sync error, see explanation below
Playback Device: PC with Windows 7, 360 to TV, anything that will playback the file
              Playback using VLC: Same problem

Explanation of problem: I have seen other posts by people with this problem using MP4 as well. The problem is that during playback, the 5.1 audio is not in the correct channels. The audio that *should* be in the center channel is coming out of the front right channel. It's pretty obvious if you have a 5.1 discreet speaker setup and you are close to them. Out of a two channel setup on a TV that's far away it's less obvious.

Listening to the actual DVD movie playback, the audio for the center channel is correct, so it is not the source.

When I used DVDFab V5.2.5.0 to reburn the problem dvd with generic h264.audiocopy. Most of the movie don't have the audio sync problem. Something got broken in version 6. About 75 percent my problem dvds are fixed using version 5.

GregiBoy - Do you know if the developers are looking into this problem or not?

Looks like we've got a number of users having this problem with various profiles... It also looks like some of the problem reports go back to mid September (channel issue - http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=145) and slightly early September (sync issues - http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=25 - and then again late October - http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=820 & http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=938)
