    DVD Ripper No Audio

I ripped episodes from two separate TV shows, I get the audio as well as the video if I play them through iTunes, however, I get the video but not the audio when I play them on my iPod.

I'm using version 8.0.9.2, just downloaded it yesterday.

Obviously, it's not a DVDFab fault. Please provide more info on what you were doing, what settings for conversion you were using... MediaInfo report for the file would be great to see!..

Make sure you are selecting stereo in the audio section, iPod will not play 5.1 multi-channel iTunes will.

So far so good. Now, please google, download and install MediaInfo. When done and running, please drag your "problem" file to MediaInfo and run report. Please post that report here. Thanks.

I meant the file you have problem with, the one you don't have audio when playing with iPod

Well, it looks like you have 6 channels of audio here. You must have chosen something wrong when you encoded it.

                        Channel(s) : 6 channels
                        Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE

That's most probably why it won't play on the iPod.....

What do I do now, bearing in mind that I'm computer illiterate? What do I do to ensure that I get audio on my iPod as well as iTunes? I downloaded the newest version, put the DVD in and started the conversion. I did absolutely nothing else. I didn't change anything.

I think you may need to spend some more time on the tutorials, especially how you use profiles and the parameters that you need to set.

Also, research the terminology and the specifications of your playing device.

It is not "Black Magic" but most of us old hands her have considerable time doing just the above.

I'm sorry I cannot help you with specific advice on your Apple equipment as I am a rarity... Totally anti-Apple (and Sony & a few others also)

After you've selected the movie title and profile click the edit button, see pic_1

DVDFab's default audio of 5.1 multichannel @ 448kbps will not play on your iPod. See pic_2.

Change to stereo (I use 128kbps but you can play with that). See pic_3

You should be good to go on your iPod.
