Unfortunately I wouldn't know as I haven't been able to complete an encode yet.

The first time I tried using 8.1.0.6 it completely froze my computer a few minutes into the first pass. I then hard rebooted, removed 8.1.0.6 and used cccleaner to scrub the registry.

The second attempt at the settings mentioned in the first post resulted in a hang of the program at approximately 50% into the second pass. No error, no freeze, just nothing but an increasing task timer.

I then changed all the encode settings to software and tried again with a different movie with the exact same result.

I'll try some more tomorrow by going back to single pass encode and see if that helps. Fwiw, it also won't save my default PS3 profile and has to be set for each individual movie.

Grenadyr are you ripping directly from the DVD or from the HDD folder? If from the DVD try using DVD Copy and ripping the main movie to the the hard drive and using the HDD folder as the source.

They are from full DVD rips stored on my HDD. Since the encoding issues started I've been storing full rips to encode when the problem is resolved.

I can’t reproduce the issue. I tried this morning, ripped to the HDD as full disk, first time in a long time I’ve used two pass. Anyway the first pass was consistently 200 fps+/- and the second pass started around 160 fps and finished up around 200. Watching now and it’s playing fine. Version 8.1.0.6 Beta.

                I wish I couldn't reproduce the issue...

I tried encoding straight from disc when I got home tonight and it worked perfectly on a very simple promotional dvd without subs.

I tried ripping two different full disc rips on my HDD with the exact same error. It makes it all the way through the first pass w/o issue then dies just after halfway through the second pass. I've tried single pass and removing subs and gotten the same result. I've tried software encoding and CUDA encoding with the same results.

I just updated my Nvidia drivers and trying again with CUDA for encoding. Strangely enough it runs slower using CUDA than when it runs on Software. It just did the same thing again.

I don't remember what version of DVDFAB I used for the disc rips but I know at least one was with 8.1.0.0 or above. I wonder if the rips are corrupt? But why all three and why always halfway through the second pass?

At the moment I have removed 8.1.0.6 and reinstalled 8.0.8.5 so I can get some encodes done. Same exact discs and rips to HDD have been encoding perfectly so far with the older version.

Grenadyr, have you tried the iPad profile to see if you get different results? I usually just use the iPad h.264 profile so that I can use them on the iPad and the PS3 both. The PS3 will play the *.m4v file created for the iPad nicely. Might be worth a try

I use he iPad h264/aac conversion and these are having issues since around 8.1.0.0. They convert ok but stutter on playback on my Samsung TV's - this has been working fine with previous versions.

In my case I have gone back to using 8.0.8.5 which is ok.

I don't know if this is off topic but I have issues when converting Blu-Ray with aac audio in m2ts it doesn't play or is corrupted.. If I use the mkv option it works and the audio plays fine. I have tred it on two different system. Also from HDD copy.
Same problem with 8.1.0.6 as 8.1.0.5. Eaven tried 8.0.8.5 with the same result.

                            Blu-tay Ripper 8.1.0.5/8.1.0.6 AAC issue

                            Continuing from above post!
I made a clean install on a new HDD with W7 Ultimate x64 and I still get the corrupt audio when converting DTS to AAC in M2TS. If I play it using WMP the sound is corrupt and metallicly distorted. If I use PDVD11 there is no sound at all.
Is any one else experincing the same?

The sollution for now is to rip to MKV and then remux into M2TS using tsMuxer.

I found the answer in this post!

The new betas 8107 and 8108 seem to take care of the sound issue.

Sorry for so many posts in a row but I don't seem to have privilages enough to edit my own posts yet...
