BD Ripper (3D Plus) How do I get Dolby Digital 5.1 with AppleTV3 preset?

Is there a way to get this done? I selected 5.1 multichannel but this only gave me stereo when I played it back on my TV. Thanks to all who respond.

No one? I been searching and have not found an answer to this using dvdfab. On another program that i wont mention :-) I did get it to work but I had to choose 6 channel discrete (which played back as dolby digital 5.1 on my receiver) I really would like this to work with DVDFAB since that other program does not play well with subtitles. I wonder if this is even possible with DVDFAB. Can someone please confirm if it is or isnt. Thanks

No one? I guess there is no way to get this done with dvdfab (this is surprising)

From what I have read this is a bug in the 5.1 update from Apple. Most find that after the movie starts hold the round button until the menu appears, switch to stereo briefly then back to 5.1 and it will play correctly. If that works for you then it's an Apple problem for sure.

I don't have an Apple TV3 but everything I do have indicates that Fab is working correctly on 5.1 multichannel.

              Guys,

Ithink you are struggling here with 2 problems, one being the iCrap player and the other being DVD Fab.

The iCrap needs to have the following audio tracks to comply with the iShit specs.
              1. AAc Stereo (This plays by default)
              2. AC-3 Dolby Digital (This will only play from a device connected by an optical cable from the iCrap)

I personally stopped using Fab to encode because of it's inability to include the 2 tracks from DVD. I don't know whether this has changed but last time I tried it, there were so many shortcomings that I still use other (Pineapple) software that will do exactly what I want.

@akadennis. My honest advice is to ditch the iCrap player and obtain a player that will play industry standard files without the dramas.

It'll save you a veritable fortune in hair treatment when you try to replace all that you have pulled out in frustration.

thanks for the responses. i ended up using another program which worked out just fine. i got my DD 5.1 plus my forced subs when needed. not sure why the dvdfab presets for appletv don't give me 5.1 but it is what it is. dvdfab still has other uses for me :-)
