BD Ripper (3D Plus) Trying to maintain Dolby TrueHD Audio

I am using Blu-Ray Ripper and even after trying MKV.remux or h.264.copyaudio, I can get DTS-HD to stay in the MKV but any Dolby TrueHD gets downmixed to Dolby Digital 5.1

Any tips on this? I have tried every setting I can find and Dolby TrueHD is not handled correctly by any program including DVDFab and HandBrake.

Hi,

Did you select the "Remove HD Audio" option when converting?
I've tried with True-HD 5.1 & 7.1, DVDFab all handled correctly.
Which version you are used? Fab8? Please download DVDFab 9 and have a try!
If it still reproduce please post your log file.

Oh -- Remove HD audio means "keep HD audio" ?

No, check "Remove HD Audio" option will down True-HD to AC-3.
Keep HD audio, should uncheck the option.

Willson here is a test log 15 mins. long of Total recall 2012 using 9.2.2.3 beta.I had audio sync problems with this movie when i converted the whole movie twice with and without all software checked in settings.It made no difference and the soundtrack converted to regular dolby digital 5.1 not dolby true 5.1.

I used m2ts normal audio copy.The 50 gig non compressed iso i made to hard drive has dolby true 5.1 and i don't have remove hd audio checked in settings.It converts to 5.1 Dolby digital not Dolby true and it has audio sync problems so Vivian says to use m2ts ac3 normal I converted using that profile to just to get rid of the audio sync problem that it did but without dolby true just regular dolby 5.1 sound.

Wilson:Here is another try using the m2ts audio copy normal profile.Theirs no Dolby true sound just Dolby digital 16 bit 48000hz soundtrack.The 50 gig iso has Dolby true 5.1 and the Dolby true light in my receiver lights up when playing the 50 gig iso but not the fab made m2ts file.

The second problem is the audio lags the video when using the above profile with or without using all software checked in the settings box.Movie name is (Total recall 2012) do you have this movie so you can try it and see if your result is the same? To get rid of the audio lag I had to use m2ts ac3 normal profile but theirs also no Dolby true just 5.1 Dolby with this profile.And like i said before i never check the remove HD sound box.

Always converter True-HD to AC-3 with m2ts audiocopy profile，it's a bug really，I've reproduce this and report to our dev. Please wait some time to fix it.

And for the AV sync issue with TOTAL_RECALL_2012, we will check the issue when we get the source.

I tried with DVDFab9 beta and now XBMC says it is Dolby TrueHD 7.1 but it won't decode it correctly. If I do just a straight passthrough rip with HandBrake or MakeMKV, it works just fine. I will post my log file later today.

The same movie has the audio lag problem did you put in overtime and get that fixed so soon also? I will try it even if the audio lag is still their because other people are having this problem with Dolby true and we all would like to see this one get fixed.Thanks for all your help Glenns.

Great Wilson i have done the conversion and both the audio lag problem is fixed and the Dolby True converting to regular Dolby digital is also fixed.

Bravo now we only have one problem left that's a black level problem you can use the same movie to test this look at the end credits back with white words
you will see if you look at the 50 gig version the black level is much higher than any fab made profile using ripper.The fab made version looks washed out and so doe's the whole movie because the black level is not correct.We have another ongoing topic open
