Many thanks each and all for that, it installed and worked fine.
I have a question tho'.
From the BD disc DVDFab showed me 5 tracks. Two of them were clearly the video and I selected both of those, not knowing which was the correct one.
DVDFab has made a MKV file from each track and they seem to be indentical in every way! Each plays fine in both sound and 3D video.
But why are there two identical tracks on the disc?
I thought one might be 2D, a different language or sound format, but apparently not.
Any thoughts?
Terry5,
Thanks for the link to the latest v, I will try.
I don't think it's multi angle, it's a regular movie.
As I say everything I can check shows the same (size, 3D sound, picture, quality).
The correct track is the one fab checks (choices) for you the rest are their to mislead programs from being able to copy the disk in most cases or second angle, trailer's,etc if I understand your question correctly.
If you select copy as 3d movie Fab will select the proper file to copy for you. Then you can pick the sound track and subtitles with the pull down boxes. The other files may contain the movie not in proper order or uncompleted to fool copy programs.
Not so much luck ripping the second BD 3D to MKV.
It failed!
Fab checked a track, but it was a trailer track not the main movie.
So I checked the movie track instead and DVDFab started on it but quickly slowed right down and eventually showed 'session failed'
I have attached the 'process' log in case anyone can find a fix.
(the internal log is 9mb! but I could send just the last few lines which seem relevant if that helps).
As the previous disc went so easy I am hoping this is an easy problem to get around.
You should post the whole log for this attempt the logs are dated. We don't even know what movie this is from what you posted. If the decoder dropped a lot of frames turn cuda off and use all software the rest of the log may contain errors and should be posted.
Thanks both,
It looks like, after following CBR929 suggestions, it has completed successfully.
I just need to view the result and see that it works.
Thanks again
Nigel
Not so good.
The process showed as completed, but the resultant MKV file was about 400mb and though it seems to contain the whole film, after about 5 mins it goes into high speed and so the film lasts about 10mins!
The film is Flying Swords... 3D
I have tried to attach a zipped file 4mb of the large log file 24mb. But it keeps saying "Upload of file failed".
Any suggestion welcome.
Nigel
P.S. I didn't disable the 'lightening copy' in settings.
Try it with fab version 8 and see if it also selects the trailer or the whole movie maybe you selected the wrong movie to decode as like I said if theirs two or more versions of the same movie it could be a effort to fool copying programs.
Look and see if one version is bigger or longer than the other as the longer one is normally the correct one.Fab should not of selected the trailer so see if version 8 gets it correct.
OK I could do that.
But I did force it to work on the movie (2hr+) and not the trailer (6mins).
So even if v8 correctly selects the movie, by default, is that going to make a difference to the outcome?
