I'm glad it worked for you and didn't make me look too bad!

Depends on hardware, but my Ivy-Bridge-based laptop typically rips & compresses BluRay at ~100 frames/sec, which for a 24fps movie means that it does it at around 4x real time playback, so time isn't that big a factor.

You knew when you made the suggestion you had a "sure bet".

BTW, I haven't figured out yet (if possible) how to prevent the "mkv" folder and rip my MKVs directly to my default folder. It's not a huge deal -- I just have to cut & paste the move and delete "mkv" directory.

Try this to see if it doesn't get you what you want. And I was sure it worked for me, I learned long ago not to bet on what works for others.

How do get lossless video in v8.22?

I'm running an older version of DVDFAB, 8.22, with a Blu-Ray Ripper and Blu-Ray 3D license. The screenshot given of how to get a lossless MKV was from version 9. How do you do this on the older version?

            I've tried:
            mkv.h264.mp3
            mkv.h264.audiocopy
            DVDfab.hdvideoMP3.mkv.h264.ac3

with encoding set to 1 and 2 passes.

The quality of the video is clearly not lossless and the file size it generates is between 750MB and 1.2GB.

            Advice?
            Thanks!

Your getting 750MB to 1.2GB BluRay Rips, I'm not surprised they don't look great. You must have limited the file size or bitrate for your rips to something ridiculously low. For me using mkv.h264.audiocopy with a bitrate around 8-9mbps I get files around 10GB, and they look great on my 60" plasma.
