I need help on MKV

Most current standalones can play MKVs (to varying degrees) and I've always wondered why people would go through the trouble of recoding them just to play back on their crappy consoles.

If you've not used a media player which gives you equivalent quality, a quarter the size, no burning hassles, no Cinivia hassles, no disks to be destroyed by kids and your entire library at the touch of a button, I suggest you have a serious look at one or keep your comments to yourself.
