When I rip Game of Thrones, the subtitle files seem to be correct, but when played in Windows Media Center or streamed to my TV, the subtitles do not appear. How can I fix this?

Get a decent media server? Seriously, what format is the movie and the subs? With media servers you usually need embedded text subs like SRT.
