BD Ripper (3D Plus) Vanishing subtitles..???

    Hi both of You
Please excuse my mistakes, I'm french and can't have any answer on the french forum, so I try here...

No way for me to get the subtitles during reading..

When I rip a BR (SMAUG, RYAN INITIATIVE/SHADOW RECRUIT,..and many others..) to MKV (défautl), ans select "forced" and/or " normal" subtitles, i can see that the files are present on the file, but when I read it (by USB on my OPPO player), they figure on the display, but when I try to read them (by selecting them), nothing.. (forced ou normal...)

Same problem with mode Copy BR to BR.....

    Any idea ?
    Thank for your help.

        Sounds like a player problem

Have you tried playback on something other than your DVD player? DVD players vary in what type of DVD subtitles they can read and display. What format are you saving the subtitles in (.sub, .srt...)

          Hi Nik
          subtitles registred as :

          Subtitles PGS
          and / or
          Subtitles Vob/Sub

          same problem (I've already try)

my reader is an OPPO 103
In fact when I look at the display, the tracks seem to be on the file (I can see
          "None"
          1/2
          2/2

But when I select each of them : nothing appears..

And I don't have any other way to verify
And it doesn't présent any interest for me if can't read my rip on my OPPO reader...
          Thanks for Your interest

Hi: you do have a way to see what subs are on the conversion use the Fab previewer and see what subs it plays.

              Hi Ella
              thanks for your proposition :
              already done :
I cant read it (they don't appear on DVD Fab prév., but I can see (with the display) that they've been recorded.
              Same as my rip :

              French subtitles :
              "Non"
              "1/2"
              "2/2"

But no way to read it (to make them appear, on the screen)..
Here they are.. but un readable..

              Thanks again
              Olivier

I gave this a try with Smaug and have no problems. Select the subs I want in the first screen, see subs1 then select French and I assume that's French? See subs2.

Are the subtitle files actually good?

The next question is whether the subtitle files actually contain data. I would try loading then in SubTitle Edit (see http://www.nikse.dk/subtitleedit/). SubTitle Edit should be able to read the file and see what if any subtitles are actually in it. If the subtitles are there, then it's probably a problem with the player and how it handles subtitles. If the subtitle files are empty then there are two possibilities:

                  1. DVDfab had a problem extracting the subtitles
                  2. The the wrong subtitle track was selected, or the subtitles were not marked as "forced" but forced was selected during the rip.

                    Hi,
In order to help you better and check where the problem is asap, would you please use DVD Copy > Main Movie mode to copy your movie onto hard drive and save as .iso file, then upload copied file using the FTP program to our FTP site? You just need to copy chapter 18->19 of the movie, then please check if it can reproduce your problem, if yes, please send us the copied small file.
I will send you a PM, please check the PM for more info.
                    Thanks in advance.

                      Hi Ning
many thanks.. for you and the others for trying to help me

In fact, I've found that the problem is a player problem.;( OPPO 103)

I've tried to rip "SMAUG" in m2ts (instead of MKV) and there is no problem.. >I can read it easily...with sub titles

It's seems that a new firmware of OPPO company can resorb this problem..

But now I've got an other question .. :
When I rip, best quality (for image) ??? :
                      MKV
                      or
                      m2ts ??

Rip 1/1 (no compression), Movie only
                      Thanks again.
