Definitely a Kodi Issue

Changed over to the DSPLAYER version of Kodi that uses LAV filters and the problem is solved. There are also a number of threads on various Kodi message boards about issues with Dolby TrueHD/Atmos playback, which are supposed to be solved with the 17.0 release.

Nope, couldn't get Fab Media player to offer HDMI out as an option.
