    aspect ratio change

I am trying to convert home video (MT2) files for appleTV and iPad use. Original aspect ratio is 16:9. When I convert with dvdfab, the picture gets compressed into a 4:3 ratio (distored) with black bars on each side. Any suggestions? Thanks

Please visit "Video Effects" section of "Edit page" and make sure your output is set for 16:9

Yes, I did try that as well as multiple iterations of cropping etc. No such luck.

I would suggest that your recorder is not setting the aspect ratio tag correctly.

Here is a lengthy discussion on the sublect:-

You will have to find a tool to set the A/R correctly. Google is your friend.

In addition to GregiBoy post - look for AviSynth - based programs (i.e. Xvid4PSP)...
