This is my latest attempt on my Vista laptop this time. No problem with Version 7, but all of Version 8 crash 2 seconds after selection of the start button. It actually starts to encode and 33FPS and and it just crashes and you get the standard DVDFab form to email which I have several times.

Solution Found

I also have the same problem. I selected a different encoding method, changed settings and saved it as the default, and it still crashed. I was able to finally solved the problem using Revo Uninstaller and having it do an 'Advanced' scan to find program and registry remnants. The profiles are in the C:\users\username\appdata\roaming\DVDfab\profiles folder. Once I deleted all remnants of the program and reinstalled, the problem went away.

SOLVED! ! ! !

It is amazing, you have no idea how many dump files I have sent to DVDFab after all those crashes with ZERO, solutions. I have done uninstalls/reinstalls, reset defaults, tried various default settings, I mean I have a huge list at home of different things I have tried and nadda.

I guess the DVDFab uninstaller should delete these very same files and it does not thus causing this problem on certain PC's for some reason. I have not had a single V8 work at all when V7 worked on the same computer and all it required is deleted the files you mentioned.

I know there are tons of other people that had the same issue with V8, maybe this thread could be a temporary sticky to help all those that responded to my thread with the same issue or until DVDFab creates a new release that addresses this issue.

Did not work

Hi,

The steps above did not work for me. The DVDFab folder doesn't exist on my Win 7 machine. I tried reinstalling 8022 several times and still no DVDFab folder.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

start a help thread of your own and give details in that thread about the problem. Posting simalar posts in multiple threads is considered cross posting and against forum rules.
