A/V Sync issues and discussion

I got it.. Had the same problem too. I found that adjusting the frames per second from 28fps down to 20fps syncronizes my audio/video perfectly. I notice it syncs automatically after about every 5secs of play. But adjusting the fps till u get it right is a success !!

I have at least three titles that this method does not work on...One of my first steps was to vary the frame rates and, sadly, on some DVDs it does not correct the sync problem. I tried everything from 15 to 30 frames and they would not sync up. For my device, a Samsung A867, 23.975fps seems to work the best. All of the other rates just make it worse.

Has anyone test any of the newer versions? 6.0.7.0 or later? Is this still an issue? Nothing official in the fix list from the looks of things... I haven't had a chance to test it out yet... Just wondering if anyone else did...

The only one of the mentioned movies I have in my collection is The 13th Warrior. I dug it out and give it a try using avi.divx.audiocopy. Something odd about the movie though it took a while to scan and was going to take over 30 minutes to make a VOB passthrough. So I did the avi from the disk and the A/V sync is spot on using 6.1.0.2 no problem at all. Looks like they protected it well!

CSS (Content Scramble System) protection is removed!

UOPs (User Operation Prohibitions) protection is removed!

I picked up “Monsters vs. Aliens” and “Scooby-Doo the mystery begins” this week for the grandkids and made divx audiocopy for the PS3 from them. The A/V sync is perfect on both. I have an old Disney PIXAR flick “Ratatouille” that is my test movie, if I’m going to have a syncing problem that’s the one that will fail. Even that one works perfect. I just can’t reproduce this problem. I’m thinking it’s like Guardian’s problem with the floating point error; it manifests itself on some systems and not others?

I think it is also profile specific.....

It seems to be fine on most profiles but not right on some others.

I just attempted a few WMV (Xbox 360 profile) conversions and had issues with the same DVDs as I did before:

Fight Club

Both are R1

Just a quick question...

Are you encoding direct from the DVD or from a hard disk folder or ISO?

This has sometimes worked for me for the real problem disks.

Rip DVD, Main Movie only to either Hdd folder or ISO.
Encode from the folder or ISO.

Gregi -I am ripping to folder and encoding from the folder...

I've attempted to rip to folder and adjusting the size to both DVD5 & DVD9...
