Gummigutta, will try to install an older version of NVIDIA drivers to see if this fix the problem. Actually using 306.23.
About the Giveaway registration, I've send you a PM. Take a read.

Found the bloody issue.
Later Nviidia GeForce R304 Drivers seems to be the problem.
Versions after 304.79 are making DVDFab Media Player to crash.
So versions 306.02 and the latest 306.23 crashes the program.
Installed the latest version before these two - 304.79 and the program starts and runs as it should.
Old installation:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 240
-----------------------------
Driver
Description : NVIDIA GeForce GT 240
Company : NVIDIA
Version : 9.18.13.623
Date : 8-30-2012
File Name : oem30.inf
NVIDIA GeForce GT 240
-----------------------------
Driver
Description : NVIDIA GeForce GT 240
Company : NVIDIA
Version : 9.18.13.479
Date : 6-28-2012
File Name : oem8.inf
I'm guessing that the other two that reported the same issue should be able to get the program up and running by installing the older Nvidia drivers.
Only drawback for me now is that the uninstallations made my registration key from Giveaway of the Day to be gone with the wind and I'm back as a demo-user.
It should also be nice if someone in charge for this program could inform me on how to get the latest Swedish language files to be incorporated into the program. So far - no luck with this mission, despite several tries to send the files to various people.

Same issue with 1.0.2.4.
Even tried to enable the extended debug mode that is in XBMC by creating a advancedsettings.xml, but that seems not to be incorporated in DVDFab. Or?
Code:<advancedsettings> <loglevel hide="false">2</loglevel> </advancedsettings
The oldest version I have is version 1.0.0.4. Anyone that have the 1.0.0.3 version and can upload it/link to it?

CBR929 is most likely in an English environment.
Installation no problems with DVDFabMediaPlayer v1.0.23 in the Dutch language.
After an installation I always reboot the system first before I start up the program.
Maybe this is an option.
Good luck

Yes, that folder in the documents folder was also manually deleted prior to a new installation try.

Did you also run the cleaner option in CCleaner, clicking the Old Prefetch data in the advanced menu?
I have to do this at times to completely delete all leftover fragments.
Hope this helps

win7/64 english.
Waiting for 1.0.2.4!
Ran CC Cleaner on the registry and removed all dead stuff from DVDFab.
Restarted the computer and then tried to install ver 1.0.0.4 (the oldest one I had saved). Still crashes.
It starts open up the black screen of the program and then the crash. No logo showing up or anything else. The log only shows this:
17:08:52 T:3780 ERROR: CRemoteControl::Connect - failed to connect
The XBMC version runs without issues.
I wonder if it's a problem with they license key. I got mine from Give away of the day some time ago. Not sure if the others with this issue have genuine keys or just using the demo version.

I can confirm that I've not had any problems updating to v1.0.2.3 on my Windows 8 32-Bit (Xtreamer Ultra 1) computer...
EDIT: I'm testing the version without a license key.
Cheers allLast edited by SeeMoreDigital; 09-22-2012, 08:14 PM.
