Okay Mona, I used the disk management tool and removed the drive letter for that port on the printer, DVDFab starts up normally with no media plugged into it. Because I don't use that port as the place to plug USB devices into I can accept that as a 'work around'. Still doesn't answer the question as to why DVDFab has to look at that resource and generate an error message if there is no media present!
