    MKV files with key frames

My stupid question of the day is: How do I keep the key frames when making an MKV or MP4 file. Thank you for the help.

All Videos have key frame so that they can be played back. Do you want to keep key frames frequency same as source?

I guess I am not asking the right way. When I am ripping a DVD or Blu ray movie it has key frames that allow you to fast forward to the spot that you want. My problem is when I am ripping to either MKV or MP4 the final output does not have those key frames. I wish to keep them. Thanks for the quick replay.
