Hulu Hulu with StreamFab for Windows

I'm confused by the banner on the StreamFab forum. It reads as if Hulu is fully back to normal for both content before January 25th 2024 and content after. I still have issues with content after January 25 like Resident Alien and The Cleaning Lady. Streamfab just hangs in an endless popup saying "Analyzing audio & subtitles informaton"

I've tried multiple versions, uninstalling, clearing temp and log directories. pasting URL for a single episode from a browser.

I'm assuming Peacock is still broken as the banner says.

Start up StreamFab. Click on the hamburger (three lines on top of each other - upper right) Click on Settings. Click on General if it doesn't come up that way. Make a note of the location of your Temp folder. You'll need that later.
Click on Hulu. Go into Hulu's Account (top right - letter in a circle) and click Log Out. Close Hulu tab, if still open. Go down to the bottom of the page and click Clear History, in the popup that appears, check both boxes, Browsing History and Cookies and other data. Click Clear Data. Close StreamFab.
Next, delete all the contents of your Temp folder. Start up StreamFab. Click on Hulu. Sign in with email and password. Hulu should now work as expected.

Cats4U I tried this and was initially hopeful but it didn't work. Got the same popup saying "Analyzing audio & subtitles informaton"

I'm using version 6.1.7.0 Aside from Resident Alien and The Cleaning lady, the following also do not work.

"The Amazing Race" all of season 36
"Animal Control" all of season 2

      Should I try uninstalling StreamFab?

I've now tried the following with no success. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone can download any of Season 2 of Animal Control.

        What I've tried....

Installing version 6.1.7.0 on a computer that has never had StreamFab

Uninstalling 6.1.7.0 on the original computer, clearing any reference to StreamFab or DVDFab except the registry ( if there is any )
        Installing 6.1.6.7 - still fails
        Installing 6.1.6.8 - still fails
        Installing 6.1.6.9 - still fails
        Installing 6.1.7.0 - still fails

T90210 What you could do is to install the version that address the bug then share/update/change location and then reinstall 6.1.6.1 in a different folder for example, C:\Program Files\DVDFab\StreamFab to C:\Program Files\DVDFab\StreamFab6161 then you can use either if needed. If working good, you can reinstall 6.1.6.1 over another version saved to C:\Program Files\DVDFab\StreamFab

T90210 You could also try the 6.1.7.1 beta that's in the first "sticky" topic, if you didn't see that already. It fixes "A crash problem in some case". That's pretty vague, but maybe worth a try.

Using Windows StreamFab 6.1.6.7 x64..... I just got done downloading from HULU.....

"Animal Control S2 E1-4"..... 1080p..... H265..... with subtitles..... No Reencoding.....
"The Cleaning Lady S3 E1-5"..... 1080p..... H265..... with subtitles..... No Reencoding.....

I couldn't attempt "Resident Alien" because that's available through HULU with LIVE TV and my subscription doesn't include that option..... and also..... for some reason..... on my laptop..... "The Amazing Race" only showed up to Season 33 in StreamFab's internal browser..... so I couldn't attempt that.....

I have enclosed a continuous log file as verification.....

One question..... Are you familiar with the Windows System Restore Function?..... and if you are..... is it possible for you to go into your System Restore Function..... and see if there is a Restore Point for you to use to get back behind the point when HULU stopped working?..... You'd have to have an idea when HULU stopped working..... but it's worth considering and it doesn't hurt to look.....

I don't mean to insult your knowledge level..... but if you're unaware..... you can check on your available date and time restore options by typing "System Restore" in your task bar search box..... then click on the "System Restore app"..... then click (1) "next"..... then click (2) "show more restore points"..... and you'll see whatever Automatic Restore Points have been generated by Windows..... and there may be a possibility that you can go back to a point where HULU was still running successfully for you.....

It's worth a look..... and you can't hurt anything by looking..... just make sure you either click (3) "cancel"..... or click the (3) "X" in the upper right hand to close the dialog box.....

I attached some screenshots with the referenced numbers of what to click on.....

and while we're on the subject..... there are two types of System Restore Points..... there are the ones I mentioned..... the Automatic Restore Points that the system generates based on a frequency setting that's controlled in a registry entry..... which can easily be modified but that's a discussion for another time..... and there are Manual Restore Points which you yourself can create..... and..... it is a good habit to get into..... whenever you are doing any type of software update..... the absolute first thing you should do is Manually Create a Restore Point..... and for ease of identification..... you can label them..... so if you were about to update to StreamFab 6.1.7.0..... you would create a Restore Point and label it..... "PRIOR TO 6.1.7.0 INSTALL"..... That's just a thought..... It's saved me on quite a few occasions over the years..... The restore..... should you ever need to use it..... doesn't touch any personal files..... just any updated programs and registry entries are returned to their previous state.....

So maybe taking a look at the System Restore Function could solve your problem..... if not..... I may also know another way..... or some other User may have a suggestion worth a try.

Thanks all. I'm trying a couple of different things. weavermovies, I'm using a virtual machine so I'm able to create checkpoints and revert back to them to get to a clean fresh windows install. Also, I wasn't able to open the log you attached. It said I wasn't authorized and I was logged in.

I tried 6.1.7.1 beta and still have the same issues but I did notice some peculiar things.

I tried Windows StreamFab 6.1.6.7 x64 but that had the Hulu location error so I tried Windows StreamFab 6.1.6.8 x64. No location error but it still failed.

                      Using version 6.1.7.0 x64
First, I do have Hulu+LiveTV which may be causing me issues like the location prompting.
I am able to download content that was added recently. As recent as last week. It's hit or miss as to what works and what doesn't
Example of an issue, if I attempt to select "Survivor", "Animal Control", "Resident Alien", "The Cleaning Lady", etc, they hang in an endless "Analyzing audio & subtitles inforrmaton" popup. But, "The Amazing Race" which airs on CBS/Paramount and on the same night as "Survivor", went right through the popup and allowed me to select episodes. Downside was that download failed with this message.

Has HULU ever worked for you in any scenario while running this "virtual machine"?.....

And what's your setup?..... What's your native operating system that you're running on and emulating a Windows environment?

weavermovies The virtual machine does work with HULU and other streaming services ( except Peacock, known problem with StreamFab ). It just doesn't work currently with these specific shows with Windows StreamFab 6.1.7.0 x64, which is my current problem.

My native OS is Windows 10 Pro 22H2 and the guest OS in the VM is also Windows 10 Pro 22H2 Both are fully up to date on updates.

I have discovered something which appears to be a problem with current version Windows StreamFab 6.1.7.0 x64. I could not download "The Cleaning Lady" season 3 with Windows StreamFab 6.1.7.0 x64 and HULU+LiveTV but if I use a regular HULU account ( without LiveTV ) I am able to download it just fine. Also "Will Trent" season 2 and "Animal Control" worked fine with a NON LiveTV account. I'm not able to download the following since they require HULU+LiveTV which doesn't work with Windows StreamFab 6.1.7.0 x64

                          "Survivor" season 46
                          "The Amazing Race" season 36
                          "Resident Alien" season 3
                          "Quantum Leap"

How do I report this bug since Cats4U does not appear to be reading this thread.

In the program, there is an option to report issues.

Nothing is back to normal. Amazon and Netflix re-encode, Peacock doesn't work, and Hulu is only partially functional.
