subs work fine on discovery+ UK but not on discovery+ US. Oddly they use a higher level of DRM in the UK so its not really fair to compare.

Discovery+ US video/audio/subs can easily be grabbed using youtubedl so its possible. you just need to use a program like CCExtractor to extract the subs as a .srt if you want to remux to the file.

I have notice that the subtitles are actually CC. Turn on CC on your TV and see if they work.

interesting, so basically for Discovery plus there is no subs at all then.. even you can turn them on and off on their website ?

About the subtitle problem, the subtitles are embedded in the video, this kind of subtitles cannot be extracted when downloading. And most of the players do not support playback of those subtitles, so even you have picked subtitles you don't have them displayed when viewing.

I can select the sub titles, but nothing gets implemented.
