Hi Marty92!

Are you accessing sites in Germany and/or via VPN?

You might want to do a post here, if it's just specific to 5.0.4.9, with details (see below) and attach log files.

If it's been an ongoing issue, you probably should post it as a new thread in order to separate it from 5.0.4.9 Dev v.5 CBR update.

Did you do a full uninstall and delete log & temp/cache files, then an install from the offline full version?

That way the moderator (usually Mona) can forward to DVDFab & Streamfab programmers/developers to look at details and issues.

Also, your suggestion to see the audio details before downloading would be an *awesome* update and very useful when updating files!

I just did a test download of Secret Headquarters on 5.0.4.9 comparing to a 5.0.4.8 download and discovered 5.0.4.9 is not respecting the HEVC setting. The file downloaded with 5.0.4.8 using CVBR has 2.75G video while 5.0.4.9 had 5.17G. After completed I played the resulting file to discover the 5.0.4.9 was AVC and the 5.0.4.8 was HEVC. with the same setting selected on each version.

Great catch!

I didn't even consider CVBR/HEVC file testing, thinking they wouldn't be effected.

I duplicated your results (see attached #1) with the above file.

1. Doing a test now for 5.0.4.8/5.0.4.9 CVBR of 20 files on Amazon, purchased and various channels - and they're running now.
2. Will post results of test here and send private notifications to Wilson.Wang & Mona with test results for emphasis and in case they don't see our posts in short term.
3. Another quirk I found was after uninstalling 5.0.4.9 CBR Dev. v5 to test Secret Headquarters it left the reference (see attached #2) on the program showing it was still installed in Windows 10/64 programs.

Thank goodness I'm part Vampire and don't sleep much...

Fyi,

Sent private notice (see attached) to Wilson Wang & Mona on StreamFab 5.0.4.9 Dev v5 producing CBR/AVC files when you choose CVBR/HEVC as output format and leaving reference in Win10/64 after it's uninstalled.

Just a quick note. They have officially released 5.0.4.9 and did not correct the discovered issue.

Rats!

I just finished testing 20 files on the 5.0.4.9 dev v5 version and they all did CBR when they should have done CBVR (chosen during download).

StreamFab 5.0.4.9. Dev. v5. Modification for CBR files to get CVBR highest audio for Amazon caused the CVBR download option to get the CBR files.

When CVBR is chosen during download it ignores your choice and downloads CBR instead.

I'm gonna reinstall 5.0.4.8 because I want to download a bunch of files in CVBR format for me and I don't want to eat my quota for today with more testing of 5.0.4.9. Official version.

I also copied Signals on the message sent earlier about 5 hours ago to Wilson Wang and Mona.

Did you get any reply from them? Unfortunately based on your timestamp (and I believe you are somewhere in the US or Canada) they probably already went home for the weekend. That's why I don't like that they normally release StreamFab updates on Friday. By the time we get them, they have gone to enjoy their time off. And I would have to think that by its relative newness of the program and the "cat and mouse" changes that by the nature of the subject occur, StreamFab is the most actively modified of all the Fengtao programs. It's very likely the most used Fengtao program on a daily basis, too. When things go wrong with the update a lot of people worldwide are left to fend for themselves over the weekend.

New versions should probably be set to be released at the first of their work week if support on these types of things is scarce after normal Friday's.

I wonder if Mona, Wilson Wang & Signals are the only people we should be reaching out to?

I sent private notices to Mona & Wilson Wang, after seeing Blurayfan's catch on CVBR requested downloads resulting in CBR files.

I copied Signals on the private notices after Blurayfan pointed out that they released the new version today.

I tried to private message Wangtao, but notifications sent to him automatically return "wangtao has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

I do have Mona's email also but I don't know if that's also a good/fast way to contact her.

Anyway, I didn't even think to test CVBR.

That just goes to show, that you really can't over test with things that you might not think were normally relevant if it might catch something like this.

But I could see if I had tested CVBR and there were no issues someone posting and saying why the heck are you doing that?

Hey, I have now uninstalled the test version and deleted all files.

Then I installed the official new version 5.0.4.9.

I have already downloaded a few episodes.

The download goes through normally every time, but the processing of the files takes a very long time.

In addition, it seems that Streamfab can no longer decrypt the video file.

I only have a green screen with each finished file.

But the audio track is fine.

So please check this again.

Me too, also in test dev version and also in final version, not all videos are decrypted only audio.
