Cant sign into MAX with windows 7

    Hello,
I want to DL something from "MAX" and I got an error saying I have to update my browser.
    That is impossible.
I also have chrome and Firefox, but the Streamfab app seems to open in Chrome.
    Is there a work around?

We test in Windows 7, no issue here. Maybe you clean the caches and temp files and then run the software to try it again?

Did you update to 6.1.2.9 using the "update" button? or did you download and use the offline installer? If Update button, try using the offline installer over top of your current install -> https://www.dvdfab.cn/mlink/download...=StreamFab_x64

            Hello, Thank you.
I just tried this, and it still not working.

            "Google Couldn’t sign you in
This browser or app may not be secure. Learn more
Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can try again to sign in."

So this is an odd situation.
I get HBO/MAX though my tv provider "YoutubeTV".
I have been using this since I got Stream Fab. I have downloaded many films and shows.

I have also tried to log in to "Youtubetv" through the browser on Stream Fab. Same error.
This has never been an issue until now.

Signing in with Google will never work until they upgrade the browser. Google is very strict as to what browser can be used to authenticate a Google account.

When you first sign-in via a provider, you basically create an account on HBO Max/Max. The next times, you can just login without the provider.

This is probably what happened when it was HBO max and now that it is Max, you my need to do the same thing. Sign-in with Google/Youtube from Chrome to create the initial account and then use the email address in StreamFab instead of trying with Google/Youtube.

If that doesn't work, try the Max forgot password link and use the email address.

Last resort is to login to Max in Chrome, close Chrome and then open StreamFab in administrator mode.

I just realized something... SF uses Chromium browser underneath, right?

                  from -> https://chromium.woolyss.com/#windows
Since version 110, Chromium is not available on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Server 2012 and Server 2012 R2 (Archive: 1)
For help, version 109 works fine. The last stable version for them is 109.0.5414.120
could that be why the error is happening?

Is that going to be an issue going forward?

Well i the new version 6.1.3.0 finally updated the browser so it is now version 114.

The odd thing is that if i go to https://www.whatismybrowser.com/ inside StreamFab it says i am using Chrome 114 on Windows 10.

But if i go with Chrome or Edge, it correctly says Windows 11.

So StreamFab may very well be spoofing the OS to the detection tools...

So I would tell nightwingken to try again with version 6.1.3.0

SF uses CEF (actually a QT5 binding of CEF called QCEF) as it's browser. CEF is Chromium Embedded Framework. It is a form of Chromium that can be used inside third-party programs. It is a subset of Chromium but it is not Chromium per se.
Like most programs that try to figure out what browser you are using https://www.whatismybrowser.com/ probably uses the User-Agent method as it's base. User-Agent always returns Windows 10 for either Windows 10 or 11 for a Windows browser. There is a newer method called User-Agent-Hints which https://www.whatismybrowser.com/ must also use. This only works with a few select browsers (not CEF/QCEF) and is able to differentiate between Windows 10 and 11.

I'm not running 6.1.3.0 and so all I can see is that 6.1.2.9 is listed as Chrome equivalent version 102. Checking the main CEF Github site it appears that the latest release is for version 116 but QCEF is a bit hard to track down. It appears that there is only one Chinese(?) individual that is working on QCEF. It appears that that is also version 116. More than likely SF is using a User-Agent Switcher. I've seen all different browsers listed in the past as well as OSes for StreamFab's User-Agent.

Then the best advice is to follow JPP and create an account in a normal browser and use it in Streamfab...
Streamfab is not going to allow a google login (or youtube.tv) at this time.

I wish it could be fixed because it also prevents the MPD mod from working on youtube.tv because you can't sign in.

Yep, that would be what I would expect. Edge is one of the browsers that can pass that info along and it would make sense for the folks at Whatismybrowser.com to be knowledgeable of that method. QCEF/CEF in StreamFab will return a Windows 10 because it does not do User-Agent-Hints.

Another factor that might be involved in this Windows 7 problem is that 7 defaults to TLS 1.0 unless enabled to TLS 1.1 or 1.2 (preferred). For security reasons a lot of websites will refuse admission to their site unless you are using the right cipher. Probably the best site to determine your SSL/TLS capability is https://clienttest.ssllabs.com:8443/...wMyClient.html. He should also Google "Windows 7 SSL" to see how to enable 1.1 and 1.2 if he still only has 1.0.

How do you change the browser in Streamfab? (I couldn’t find any information on this, including in the manual.)
