Why can't it just work, without all these workarounds? This is getting tiresome.

You don't. The best you could hope for would be to change what the browser appears to be with a User-Agent switcher. More than a year ago and again 6 months after that I requested that exact thing. Still waiting.

        Jack,
I know this was from awhile ago but due to something I just found out about it has me seriously doubting that they updated the browser to 114. Firstly, I can only find references to QCEF 102 in the files. Since you are seeing 114 with What is My Browser, odds are that SF just used a User-Agent switcher as I wrote previously. But the big thing is that any program using CEF greater than 110 does NOT support Windows 7/8/8.1. If they actually did go to 114 then every Windows 7/8/8.1 user here would be screaming because it would cause an immediate crash. It is doing it on other CEF-based programs.

Interesting... May be why it is also saying Windows 10 as the OS.

People still on Win7/8/8.1 are kinda playing with fire IMHO. Especially Win7. If Microsoft no longer supports it, i don't think they have a leg to stand on in being upset about any program dropping support...

I agree 100% jpp72, there is no excuse to still be using Windows 7, you cant expect support on an OS that is 15 years old.

No, as I wrote previously, if using just the User-Agent method of determining a browser, both Windows 10 and 11 will show up as Windows 10. The User-Agent-Hints method must be used to get it right. Most places don't use the Hints method yet.

I reluctantly agree with both you and Chameleon. The update needs to be done. I only moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10 about a year and a half ago because, to me, Windows 7 felt the most comfortable in my hands. Windows 10 still feels alien to me in a lot of ways. I'll probably skip Windows 11 and if my brain still works and I'm still around I'll probably get it's successor after it has been out for 2-3 years.

I was a big fan of Windows 2000, as well. I almost cried when I was forced to switch to Windows FP (Fisher-Price) aka Windows XP.

                Hello,
I tried signing in via my lap top and Stream Fab is working fine except for "MAX".
I was able t0 get into it when it was HBOMax. Has not been able to work since the change over.
                I am using version 6.1.3.6. 17/8/23

I can sign in with Firefox, Chrome and all of my devices.
I did the "what is my browser"
                Chrome 116 on Windows 10
                and
                Firefox 116 on Windows 10.

I can sign into Netflix , hulu , paramount , amazon everything but max
which is through my provider youtube tv., It used to work fine with zero problems.

The odd thing is that if i go to https://www.whatismybrowser.com/ inside StreamFab it says i am using Chrome 114 on Windows 10.

But if i go with Chrome or Edge, it correctly says Windows 11.

So StreamFab may very well be spoofing the OS to the detection tools...

So I would tell nightwingken to try again with version 6.1.3.0

try clearing your cookies & site data for MAX , restart streamfab and see if you can sign in to MAX.

I will also re-iterate, login with Chrome, close Chrome completely, start StreamFab as an administrator by right-clicking the icon and then see if you are logged into Max.

It has worked for me before. I don't want to clear my shit to try again, just in case it no longer works.

nightwingken and if all else fails do the following:
                      1. In StreamFab, use the 3 bar menu in the upper right, select Settings
                      2. On the General tab, make note of the TEMP Directory and LOG Directory
                      3. Exit StreamFab
                      4. Clear out the contents of the TEMO and LOG directories. (IF you are unable to delete everything from the log folder, then StreamFab didn't exit properly and is still running. Reboot your PC, do NOT run StreamFab and try again)
                      5. Use the offline installer, right on top of your current installation. https://www.dvdfab.cn/mlink/download...=StreamFab_x64
                      6. Try again.
                      7. IF it fails, zip the contents of your log folder and post it. And/OR while in StreamFab, use the 3 bar menu and select FEEDBACK. Enter information about your issue and submit.

KidJoe...I can confirm this NOW works....on the last version I had...6.1.3.0 it wouldn't work. On 6.1.3.6 I can follow your directions and it picks up the cookies for youtube and google.
YES...even youtubetv works so this should also allow for google to validate MAX for Nightwingken.

As for why it won't work without the workaround....Google doesn't allow logins through embedded browsers. That's been known for a long time. I still recommend creating an account for MAX outside of youtubetv and then validating it with the youtubetv login in your normal Windows browser. You can only validate ONE extra account this way but it avoids the Google Login for SF.
