Paramount+ English subtitles are stripped from downloads of 48 Hours

I can't get English subtitle tracks for "48 Hours," even though they show up on the download menu. I know they're available as the competiton can capture them. This looks like yet another fun facet of @TomdeOldMan's post, where they found English wasn't displayed in the DL menu for subtitles - or if it were, then they downloaded in French, not English.

That subtitle glitch thread was started almost a month ago, and as of two days ago is still not resolved. Could we please get some feedback?

P.P.S. It'd be really great if that stupid "please log in to your account" popup wouldn't make an appearance when I'm already halfway to logging in to Paramount.

I don't think so - I should get an SRT file with the download, right? There's nothing in the folder, nor can I find one to access in any SF and/or document files when I select subtitles in several apps - "remux into file" is my default setting, so I'm not too savvy when it comes to SRT files.

"Remux into file" incorporates the subtitle right into the .mp4 or .mkv file. Or it should based on my understanding. I don't do subtitles. Anyway, look at your .mp4 or .mkv using MediaInfo (text mode is best, in my opinion). Here's an example of a .mkv file that I found in my library ---

Good to know! I usually just open the file with VLC media player, go to Tools and click on codec information - if there's a subtitle stream track there, it'll be listed. As you can see, there's a whole lot of empty going on here. "Remux into file" embeds the subtitles in the file - if I DL using the competition, they're there. (And because they have a disdain for capturing thumbnails, that means that every damn episode in a series will look alike, which is why I much prefer SF and wish they'd fix this issue!)
