The supposed behaviour is if set to H265 HDR10 and not available, then get H265 SDR, if that is not available, then get H264.

It seems weird to me that they would have HDR and no SDR unless the Netflix players now do tone mapping but i have no clue.

It's more likely something wrong with StreamFab but how do you prove it besides downloading something you already have?

I am pretty sure The Witcher S03 is available in H265 SDR so if you try to get that and it downloads in H264, then there is a bug.

I would like to know the quality I will be getting before I download it, not after. Would this be too much to ask?

Ya i have asked for this many times. Don't download if it is not what i selected. But better than that, show me what i will be getting.

The amazon download window gets us halfway there because we can see if the episode scanned will be H264 or H265 but it's not for the whole season.

Only being able to analyze individual episodes will give us that. Individual Episode Analysis solves so many issues that it's really frustrating that it doesn't seem to be a priority for them.

Perfect example is Penny Dreadful. You think you will be getting H265 but there are H264 episodes throughout the seasons. Of course it's also the highest bitrate so it's frustrating to lose credits on amazon when i sub to 10 channels. 100 credits for 10 channels is just annoyingly low

Odd. I just tested painkiller in Australia, latest version of streamfab, and I'm getting HDR10 and Atmos. Are you using a Dolby vision profile maybe, and it doesn't have Dolby Vision?.
