Have you tried remuxing them with SF option remux into file?
Last I knew that worked, but once SF went to recording mode I moved onto other software for Amazon.
There is better recording software out there if people want it, I went to 'AS' which still does a direct download from Amazon.
Even the other recording software gets the subtitles.

I'm not familiar with 'AS'. I have used FlixGrab before and it seemed to work OK, but it's a subscription service and since StreamFab had been working well up until Feb., I let it lapse.

I have found that setting download mode to "Subtitle Only" and Subtitle to "Extract Original Format" will have the subtitles as a Timed Text Markup Language (TTML) file.

I decided to try that specific show and episode, picked subtitle only as well as Extract to srt file and it went fine. (https://prnt.sc/Ie5jXI8fT5Oz)
I am using version 6177 so that might help.
Try deleting the following folders in Documents\DVDFab\StreamFab, Log, Output, Temp
If still issues, try to uninstall including having it remove settings also after uninstall reboot check for remaining folders titled streamfab and remove them.
Then install the latest from the offline installer in the top stickies of the forum.

Still couldn't get it to work for me, but only from Amazon. Every other site downloads subtitles just fine. I think next I'll try the x86 version and see if maybe it will work there.

Sorry, as I showed it worked. I used the x64 version as well. Might be a location thing, or many are having issues with Amazon itself. Could be the language you select, as I got English, not sure what language you try. It could be so many things, I guess.
I guess at this point, try anything. If you think x86 will work better, go for it.
One thing with x86 it will install in a separate location then x64 so you could easily have both on your computer.

You again may want to try uninstalling and getting the offline installers and install from them. My test was with version 6177. You could also try that if not, or even maybe try 6178?
I gave up on Streamfab for Amazon unfortunately and since SF seems to show they have no interest in properly fixing it.
The keep saying temporary fixes, but it's been over 4 months of that and just keeps going.

Interesting, I'm having exactly the same issue here for some time as mjgold01 The only way I been able to get subtitles is to select subtitles only in original format. The is a PITA as I have to remember to do this and I also have to then convert them to SRT as this is better supported by most video players...

This has been discussed more than one time. There is no understanding why this happens. I NEVER had it happen, I consider myself lucky.
Some have found a FULL uninstallation including checking remove settings when prompted during uninstall and then install again will fix.

The 2 \\ are what causes the issue with a Windows install. Maybe support needs to be alerted, and they can try to find what starts to cause it or change it from a single \.
I still don't get why it happens to some and not others, so even if support gets alerted, will it get fixed quickly?
It's tough to fix something that only happens to some and not others, and may not show up at all.

Stan001 Thanks for the heads up and the link talking about the delimiters used in streamfab,ini. I altered mine from a mixture of 2 backslashes, 1 backslash and 1 forward slash to always a single forward slash and I'm pleased to say my issue is now resolved. This should be very easy for the developers to resolve, either with a utility to fix the stored off filepaths used in the install or by modifying the code so it fixes filepaths with the wrong delimiters on the fly. I also tried a single backslash and that does not work, so I assume it needs either 2 backslahes or a single forward slash consistently. The other weird thing is why did the only affect Amazon...
