Yes and yes to both questions. In Playerfab its all or nothing, when on it looks like closed caption with everything in English, even the English dialogue. Have you tried it?? Or are you just assuming? I've tried everything-twice. This will be my last reply to a suggestion unless the person asking has already tried it.

      Is this what you mean?

I had streamfab download the subtitles plus the movie and then used VLC media player to play the movie.
Selected Hidden Strike(2023).en.closedcaptions.srt when going into the subtitle menu or you can just choose closedcaptions.

If you use forced, it displays:

      Don't worry,
we're here to escort you out.

Using closedcaptions it shows as :

      -[Luo in Chinese] Don't worry,
we're here to escort you out.

What a waste of time, streamfab so-called support.

I now just downloaded it as an mkv file with remux of subtitles, I also got the same choices and the same results with using the subtitle menu in VLC player.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I changed it to an mkv file and it works on my Samsung player and windows media player. It only matters to me that it works on the Samsung DVD player so it can be viewed on my TV. Thanks again!!

You're not quoting anyone so I'm not sure who you're replying to. I am not subscribed to Netflix currently, and I'm not in a position to do so at the moment. I'm asking questions because I don't know what you mean by "EVERYTHING-TWICE". Your "everything" and my "everything are likely not the same. I have fought with forced subtitles in the past, both with StreamFab as well as for disc rips.

In Post 3 you show two subs selected. Post 7 you show two sub title tracks are in your file. In post 13 your screen shot shows info about the subtitles with forced in the Title field, but not everything in the second subtitle track.

In the First Post you mention NO subs are being displayed, now in what I quote you say that you see "caption with everything in English" which means the symptom has changed.

In PlayerFab and VLC, you should be able to not only toggle subtitles on and off, but you should be able to select which subtitle track is being used when they are on. Are you saying that turning Subs on and no matter which subtitle track you select, you see the same on-screen text? including all dialog?

If so, you can also try setting Fab to download subtitles as Extract As SRT file, and compare the two SRT Files that are downloaded. That would help identify if the wrong sub for forced is being downloaded.

You can just use VLC; it's free and works fine. I do not understand the issue here.

This is one of the things that make me wonder about replies. My 6:22 PM post in reply to Stan001's suggestion states my issue has been resolved. I am a bit surprised that another post at 6:56 PM and 8:07 PM did not see that. It was as simple as changing the type of download from MP4 to mkv. I am just as surprised that I have had an open ticket with DVDFab since last year and all they could suggest is wait for the next update. Thank you all for your input, I have learned a lot. Special thanks toStan001 who actually solved my problem.
