ESPN+ ESPN+ is not working properly, wrong videos and possible different format

I am a college football fan and wanted to archive the games this season .
On 12-07-2023 using version ????? I downloaded the following NCAAF college football games
    • Sat, 11_25 - Texas A&M vs_ #14 LSU but what actually plays is about 1 hour of commercials and then some hockey games. On a chrome browser the games plays just fine.
On 09-16-2024 using version 6.1.9.8 I downloaded the following NCAAF college football games
    • #16 LSU vs_ South Carolina but what actually plays is 3.5 hours of game delay and then some women’s soccer. On a chrome browser the games plays just fine.
    • #23 USC vs_ #13 LSU but what actually plays is 50 minutes of your event is starting soon and then and the about 30 minutes of some baseball game of Minnesota vs the Guardians. On a chrome browser the games plays just fine.
    • Nicholls vs_ #18 LSU but what actually plays is 50 minutes of your event is starting soon and then and the about 30 minutes of some baseball game of Minnesota vs the Guardians. On a chrome browser the games plays just fine.

On 09-22-2024 using version 6.1.9.9 I downloaded the following NCAAF college football games
    • UCLA vs_ #16 LSU but what actually plays is about 1 hour of YOUR EVENT IS STARTING SOON and then about 1 hour of a bruins vs someone hockey game. On a chrome browser the games plays just fine.

Additionally, all ESPN+ seem to be corrupt or in a different format. My preferred player is Any DVD downloaded from the Microsoft store. It plays everything I have ever downloaded from Amazon, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, peacock, Paramount, max, etc.; however, it wont play anything downloaded from ESPN+. Either the play button will do play/ pause a million times , like a strobe light, or I will get a broken video symbol “Failed to Play”. I am able to open the ESPN+ videos using the VLC player, but something is different as I don’t have to use the VLC for anything else on my computer

Are you sure you weren't subject to a blackout? As a Big Ten fan, I'm not familiar with SEC/ESPN rules. Big Ten teams rarely play on ESPN and only as a visiting team. What about the SEC channel, did you try there for a replay?

If you are able to watch these games live on cable TV or OTA, perhaps you should invest in a tuner like a HDHomerun and a media server like Emby to record the game live.

I can click on each game and watch on demand any of these games on demand, but when i download through Streamfab, it downloads the fake file.

I don't know then. As mentioned, since I'm a Big Ten fan, I really have no reason to subscribe to ESPN+. With no disrespect to you, ESPN abandoned the Big Ten for almost exclusively the SEC, so ESPN can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps someone else who subscribes to ESPN+ could run a few tests to see what is going on. Your log didn't show anything that I could point my finger at as the cause of your problem.
I fully understand what you are going through. I missed the first game of the year for the team that I'm a fan of because I lost track of what day it was. I kicked myself in the butt about a dozen times, even though we played an FCS team and destroyed them. I had a hell of a time trying to find a replay of the game. Probably because we were playing an FCS team, no one seemed to carry it. I finally had to settle for a highlight reel on YouTube. I used to tape all the games, too, but then I realized that I never watched them and finally gave that up a few years ago.

I know i am new to the forum. Would it be right to assume that a moderator will see that and attempt to fix this will be made, or would that have to be posted somewhere else? thnaks for your help

Technically, there are no moderators at the moment. Jack (jpp72) and I were the last moderators. Your assumption would have been a good one when we were moderators, but we were so often ignored by management that we resigned our positions. Your best bet would be to send a private message to Wilson.Wang, he is the StreamFab project manager or send Feedback found in the Settings menu of the StreamFab program.

are these games live events that are actually playing ??? if yes, then i don't think streamfab currently supports those
type of streams yet. you'd have to wait for the stream to end and then try streamfab.
for streams that are live, you can try streamlink or yt-dlp for live streams.

No, they are all VOD replays. See his message #3.

6.2.0.0 seems ESPN+ is not working at all
This is "ESPN+ not working 10/6/2024, 4:33:32 AM" by Timothy Bain on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

Instead of sharing a video you should use the Feedback function in SF or "Contact Form" here

I am sure that no user in the forum can change the SF behavior.

btw: I've never access to ESPN+, so i can't test or confirm

edit: I think replays can be downloaded with yt-dlp by adding cookies from browser.
But Live streams and some other videos use (AES encrypted) HLS, they don't work.
