Sadly there were zero upgrade options that would not fail without an error code, there again it's Windows and Microsoft so it is error codes and blue screens aplenty. I had to do a fresh install and re-configure everything. However I can still boot Win7 on the occasion the need arises, on the same machine (yes, it is possible with a little creativity).

If the system is more than a decade old there is a chance there won't be Win11 drivers for all the devices. Usually there is if it's not that old. My MB is from 2012 and Win11 is fine with it but I doubt I would have been that lucky had it been older. The firmware was updated to 2016 as well.

Yes, adding entries to the LabConfig registry keys allows one to install Win11 with no TPM, no RAM check and no CPU check. In short I had no other choice. There is an open source answer file generator that strips out most of the bloat and BS during install as well.

I knew the day was coming when I had to put Win7 on the back burner, it just took enough issues to prompt me to do so. Legitimate working Win10 OEM keys are $4 or less and Win11 $6 or so. I was able to run newer software in a Win11 virtual machine but that was only to buy time to migrate everything over to Win11 from Win7 and I can tell yo it was no picnic.

I can empathize with those still running Win7 and the upgrade path is problematic and therefore understand their reluctance.
Get ready, Windows 12 is coming soon :-)

So, regarding the hardware, I started with Streamfab with a notebook from 2009. I now use an HP EliteBook 840G4 (2017). With the device from 2009, I needed almost 24 hours to watch a season on Amazon. With the EliteBook, it took less than 15 minutes for an episode. Now I have fiber optic and an SSD, and I can now download 100 episodes in 1-2 hours. I regret not getting rid of the old hardware sooner...

Windows 11 keys are not too pricey either, just find a legit seller. And 11 can be run on unsupported hardware with helper programs.
Believe it or not, you don't have to go that far back to find hardware not supported by Windows 11.
Technically, you can upgrade to windows 11 with your Windows 7 key, if your hardware was new enough. (This desktop I use activates initially with Windows 7 for install before my Business Premium account takes over)
You can upgrade to Windows 11 with your Windows 10 key.

When Windows 11 launched, any system with a Intell or AMD processor older than about 5 years old was not supported officially. Same without a TPM chip or UEFI compatible bios. Not sure if they have increased the minimum CPU requirements for 24H2 or not as I haven't looked.

Honestly, if you are running anything older than 5 years old you are asking for headaches. It'll run like bantha foodo, and you will probably have issues with driver support as manufactures are not always making drivers for the latest OS for old hardware. (I've had limited success running windows 10 drivers on windows 11 for some peripherals)

I'll roll with Win12 when they shove it down my throat. By that time I'll have a sparkly new system to put it on.

            You're just joking, right?

            If not go for it.

Come back in a couple months and tell me....

...everything the upgrade breaks, not that Windows updates EVER break ANYTHING.

...how that upgrade went without errors, not that Windows upgrade EVER fails or generates ANY errors or issues.

...how many new privacy issues were identified, not that Win11 isn't already privacy oriented.

...how many driver issues were encountered due to forced updates, not that Win11 EVER has ANY driver issues due to FORCED updates.

...how many of the new features and forced apps enhanced your usage, not that windows update would EVER forcibly install anything you'd NEVER use.

Then tell me how close your rig is to mine including installed adapters, specs, devices and peripherals as well as primary functions (surfing, gaming, media center, video editing, audio/music production, web development, programming, etc.).

I'll give in to 24H2 when it is both FORCED on me and when all the bleeding edge morons have ironed out all the major issues it introduces, not that it ever would have any. I've updated to 22H2 from Win7 and finally got it all working great. I think I'm good.

Sorry, I just have to poke fun at the "My 2025 Corvette is gimongously betterumus, why drive a 2024" train of thought. Why? Because a 2024 gets me to the grocery store just as fast as a 2025 would and all the factory recalls have already been addressed.

since anystream is gone, this software has no competition anymore, and it wont fix anything. Its all about adding some new asian providers, nobody knows about...

I ve bought this software a long time ago, to download series from (german) RTL+. I don t care about netflix, or amazon or whatever.

The programm still doesnt find the correct profile and offers you a horrible bitrate as maximum. It looks blurry and milky and appears like an SD video, even though it's in Full HD.
Yet, there are many way to get the total bitrate that is offered, i can see that on a daily base, checking scene or p2p rlses.....

No1 gives a fuck of the staff....

We've already explained it to you 1000 times, and I'll do it for the last time. Streamfab can only download what is played in a Chrome browser. I don't know from which source the RTL stuff in the scene comes. At least not from a Chrome browser from RTL+ Germany...The module is not broken. It depends on the MPD that RTL+ offers... Germania correct me!

I disagree; I think the staff did an excellent job with Netflix. I wasn't expecting it, but they did, and I said, " Thank you."

IIRC, Germania said StreamFab was getting a certain MPD but he was using a different URL for his MPD and was able to get higher bitrates.

                    I could be wrong...

If only VBR is offered, the result is significantly smaller/worse - see here

For what I use SF for, it works extremely well. I think Fab did an outstanding job resolving the 480/540 issue with their beta release and in resolving the outdated client issue. I use SF for AP, NF and YT. For those, I have no complaints. Pluto and Tubi are rubbish, but that's not something SF has any control over.

To Fab I have to say thank-you. As far as I'm concerned, they delivered exactly what I paid for.

Now, where in the H can I find Uranus 2324?

That show is a single camera comedy! I selected EAC3 2.0 when 5.1 was in the list. I do not need 5.1 audio!!!

I'm not currently at my PC to try this but does this mean SF can finally download Sony Movies from Netflix in 1080p?

The upgrade didn't break anything for me.
The upgrade had no errors for me.
I don't see any privacy issues with the OS. If you don't want to link an online account, follow the instruction to bypass the requirement.
I didn't get any driver issue, but I don't use ancient technology either.
I didn't have any issue with the "forced" apps. I just uninstalled them. (Used CCleaner for the ones that don't show in the Add/Remove Programs).
I have a HP Omen 17 Gaming laptop. I use it for development, gaming, surfing, Hyper-V, and music/video editing. Again, no need to use ancient tech.

There is no real reason NOT to upgrade the OS when it is available, except paranoia. If a person is that paranoid, they should turn off all tech and become a hermit... IMHO.
