StreamFab for Windows Can't authorize due to "failed to connect to the internet" error

I did a complete uninstall, and then installed v6200x64 but I cannot authorize because of this message. The full message is:

Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	45.6 KB ID:	452538

I do have the internet (without VPN)
It authorized fine 2 days ago
    I have 3 of 6 authorizations left.
I installed v6 because 6.1 didn't work for me with Netflix and 6.2 seems to have issues.

Look at the thread two days ago:

Unable to connect to streamfab account and can't use it

    > I installed v6 because 6.1 didn't work for me with Netflix

Nothing is better with 6200 than with 6201

I can ping fine without errors. I de-activated my firewall completely. I de-activated my Malware software. I am not using my VPN.
The "host" file contains just commented out lines.
Not sure what to do next really.
The only thing new on my computer is Malwarebytes (and its VPN service) and I have disabled all of it.

I rebooted a number of times.
Whenever StreamFab starts I get a pop-up box that tells me my username and password is wrong. I already changed it once today and it didn't make a difference.
Everything is fine on the Streamfab website when I login there as a member.

Maybe Streamfab doesn't like that I'm using a 2 version old package?
      I guess I'll try 6.1 x64

        > Whenever StreamFab starts I get a pop-up box that tells me my username and password is wrong.

This contradicts the statement "Failed To connect to Internet"

        > Maybe Streamfab doesn't like that I'm using a 2 version old package?

I tested new Authorize with 6200 for 2 minutes => no problem

Please uninstall Malwarebytes, restart and retry

Thanks to Germania for all the clues; I wouldn't have solved this without him.

It could more likely be the Web Protection, also making sure you use the latest version 5.1 of Malwarebytes.

I had alerts going off even when browsing help.Netflix with Web Protection on, with Malwarebytes.

It wasn't Malwarebytes. I was wrong.

okay good to know - but it was apparently his only change (and before that authorization works)

I know. It makes no sense, but it's what happens. Worse, at one point today, in my 3 hours of trying to troubleshoot this, I noticed a hidden open pop-up that said I was using a cracked version! The only place I've ever downloaded streamfab from is on the dvdfab site where you can get full downloads. I also got Malware "XMRig Miner" on my system the same day that I got v6 or 6.1 from the DVD fab site (hence my installation of Malwarebytes). Could be coincidence, but getting a notice of cracked v of Streamfab in particular makes me wonder. Anyway, I removed everything with Revo and never got the "cracked" message again.

Well this is interesting.... I should have tested this first, but I also have StreamFab v6.0 on my laptop, and I just ran it. What did I get?

got this just before the "update" window opened.

I disabled everything it does. That should be enough, no?
There is one other thing that happened - a Win11 update removed "local" user accounts. I noticed that my server computer (where I install StreamFab) was just using the account with the outlook address. So I created a local account, installed Streamfab 6.1 on it (after completely removing it from the other account), and still the same issue.

So I don't know. I think someone might have to completely remove Streamfab, all of it, and then try authorizing, because it's been 5 hours now that I don't have, and I'm getting the same thing.

This message may be a result of blocked authorization => see here

I don't know if Melictron also got wrong user/pass displayed ..
.. but it is possible that the changed password did not reach all servers (us,fr,de,jp)

If you get wrong user/pass and internet is detected ..
.. have you tried the old password ?

If I were you, I would create a test account - here
and try it out with this one.

fresh tested: auth okay - of course no registered services - try it:

So we can all get on the same page, we should have clear information about the configurations. I know you said you disabled your firewall but i have seen plenty that say they are disabled and it's not the case.If you are using the windows firewall, i suggest you install Malwarebytes Windows Firewall Control. It's a more friendly interface for the windows firewall.

Once installed, go to Manage Windows Firewall Rules

Then sort the rules by name and make sure to display all the rules and have no filter on.

Post a screenshot like above so we can rule out the firewall. I don't know your technical levels but i have had issues before when someone said they disabled their firewall and it wasn't. Another issue is that they said they disabled it and it was disabled but the issue was with the network type. Disabled the firewall for Private but the network was identified as Public.

Please make sure your network type is set to Public:
                            • Right-click the network icon in your task tray
                            • Click Network and Internet settings
                            • Click WiFi or Ethernet (Whichever applies)
                            • Click the name of your Network
                            • Make sure it is set to Private
