I only know they're using a private tool... and they get 8000 kbps of video and E-AC3 5.1 @256 kbps and subtitles

mubi.com is working now but it doesn't allow me to download the subtitles and a lot of the films I want are non-English.

Is there anything I'm missing that would allow me to download the subtitles or is that a limitation of the DRM MPD module?

I think it never worked in SF for mubi (sample 2023)

not in general, but it can't handle all types of subs

Open DevTools in your Browser (F12), click on Network and filter: mpd
Now play (or reload) your episode, so you should see a mpd at the left.
(Alternate use Extension like cat-catch, The Stream Detector or MPD Detector)

Copy this url (rightclick) and use this url in N_m3u8DL-RE
          Code:
N_m3u8DL-RE --sub-format srt -ss lang=en "Your mpd URL"

sample (no key for subs only required)

Thanks for confirming Germania. I'm not confident enough with the Command Prompt and code so I'm going to accept that it's not possible for me for now but i do appreciate your effort and advice.

You might try a trial of TubeDigger......It will offer subs when available. Only problem I noticed on mubi.com is they are numbered and not labeled by language. You'd have to grab them all to see which is which.
