StreamFab for Windows cannot get SF 6.2.04 to work

I'm using Parallels to run Windows 11 on a Mac (doing this, because Mac-Updates for SF are rare und delayed all the time. "latest" version 6.1.9.8 is now ).

SF 6.1.9.9 runs fine, without any Problems, in the Paralles-Mac-Win11 environemt.

But I failed to get SF 6.2.0.4 working. The installation process runs fine, and the application fires up succesfully, but as soon as I try to select "Amazon" to get to the login-window for amazon, SF crashes instantly.

I tried to "uninstall" SF 6.1.9.9 and clear the cache, and reinstall SF 6.2.0.4. Same reult.

I even tried on a "fresh copy" of Win 11, where SF never was installed bevore, same behaviour.... ...SF starts and seems to be "up and running", but no way to log into amazon, this causes a crash, even before I have a chance to log in at amazon.

I tried the "full installer" (streamfab_x64_6204.exe) as well as the online installer (streamfab_online_6204.exe), same result.

Anyone has a clue? As far as I read the forum, others managed to get SF 6.2.0.4 running and to do downloads.... ....I have no idea what I missed.

    Logfile is attached.

/I can't speak for Parallels to run Windows 11 on a Mac.
A true Windows 10 or 11 computer with a new installation of Windows 11, I can only say make sure you have all the updates.
If Amazon in SF was causing crashes, there would be hundreds of posts. Not that I am saying Amazon works 100%.

Really off the wall, but it might be a location issue, in the USA Win11Pro fully up to date, and I see no crashing issues.
I don't know if possibly SF maybe requires some extra runtimes under Win11 or anything, but I think it would say, but then again it is SF.
Also, maybe check the streamfab.log, you never know it might point to something, even crashing. You could check the other logs as well.

Most people only now do the offline installer. And if an older version exists, uninstall using streamfab uninstall, and then install again.
I Always use the 64x version (here).

Location of temp and log files.

    Code:
    %HOMEPATH%/Documents/DVDFab/StreamFab/Temp

    %HOMEPATH%/Documents/DVDFab/StreamFab/log

What a waste of time, streamfab so-called support.

I could imagine that it is related to the browser (CEF) update.
According to this, it should work up to 6201, but not from 6202 onwards.

Your issue may depend on if your Mac has an Intel CPU or the Apple silicon CPU. Apple's CPU is technically an Arm processor. Windows 11 supports Arm, but this program is a x86 or x64 which would need to run on an Intel CPU and probably won't run right if at all otherwise.

yes, I do have all the Win 11 updates, ensured to be safe at that...

            check the streamfab.log
Yes, I tried to check the logfile, but I didn't find anything that gave me a clue, therefore, I posted it here.

exactly, I only uset the offline installer since I failed with "update" and "online" installer. First, I deinstall (with the "uninstaller") the old Version of SF and then do an install with the offline installer (x64) of SF. This worked up to SF 6.1.9.9. - 6.2.0.4 installs without any probs, but failes to log into amazon.

does Amazon not work in SF 6.1.9.9 ??
as stated above, Amazon works ok with SF 6.1.9.9, I can login and start downloads (which sometimes fails due to the outdated SF 6.1.9.9), using SF 6.2.0.4, I cant even log into amazon, SF crashes instantly....

I will take a look at that, tanks.

I don't think this is the issue. The Paralles-People do a great job, and all Windows X64 Applications run without any problem in this environment, even SF up to 6.1.9.9 did, and SF 6.2.0.4 starts up, but fails to log into amazon...

darth_ep1, sorry, I can only make guesses. I was going to load up a new Win11pro install in a VM, but have not had the time.
So can only say Amazon does not seem to have that issue on my current Win11Pro system.
I even can use SF with malwarebytes, it's always so crazy why some have an issue and others don't.
A clean installation of Win11 you would think would work better updated than a system like mine which I think has over 2 years (might even be longer) use of installs of not only SF but numerous other software, yet no SF crashes.
Yes, Amazon has some issues, but have not seen a crashing issue.

One other thought, although most times not always so helpful in the info it gives, you could check Windows 'Event Viewer' to see if it's logging the event and if anything can be made of the sometimes cryptic info that it gives on programs that crash. It 99% of the time does make some type of log when programs crash and then can be viewed in the Windows 'Event Viewer'.

At least, Germania advised to use "clean and fresh" Win11 Installations, in case of installation issues with SF. So I did, but it didn't help....

Thx. I will have to ask a friend of mine to take a look at that. I'm not very good at Windows (trying to avoid it, as far as possible), more an "Apple-Man" (since 1984) and experienced in running Ubtuntu Servers....

ok, did some "version testing" today.

I started with a working copy of Win11 having SF6.1.9.9 installed - and then ran through the "upgrade-path", upgrading one Version after the other, always using the "uninstall" first and the the x64 "offline"-full-installer of the next version.

                  Here is my experience:

SF 6.1.9.9 -> SF starts up, amazon login screen works
SF 6.2.0.0 -> SF does NOT start up, closes without error message
SF 6.2.0.1 -> SF starts up, amazon login screen works
SF 6.2.0.2 -> SF starts up, amazon login screen works
SF 6.2.0.3 -> SF starts up, amazon login screen works
SF 6.2.0.4 -> SF starts up, but crashes as soon as I try to open the amazon login-screen (this can be reproduced)

This doesn't look to me as if the problem is with my windows installation...?

From the log files, it seems like that it's crashed when trying to write the cookie files to your HDD disk.

I don't use Parallels before, but I think that the temp, log, output path should be the like this when running Windows via Parallels, C:/Users/XXX/Documents/DVDFab/StreamFab/Temp

Please check it in StreamFab Common Settings, Documents directory free space or the settings of Parallels.
