Netflix Streamfab 2.2.1 Netflix colours very "purple"

    Hi Stream-team

I went to download some TV series today from Netflix and the colours are all coming in various shades of purple?

This happened on various series, the witcher (anime), the recruit and the night agent. I have attached some images of what is going on, there's some weird pattern appearing at the beginning of the series episodes and then a purple netflix and then when the episodes start, you can see from the screenshots the colours seem to have all shifted towards the blue-end of things.

    Thx !

It is necessary to change the VIP setting for NF Video Codec
Only change selection is useless - see here: SF 6221 - NF Selection looks fine but dl wrong Codec

Thanks - so wait for an update then. I can live with that, thanks G, most appreciated for passing the link to the original post!

No update coming, SF is working correctly.
It was posted in another thread that h265 SDR is no longer an option, so you would need to switch to h264.

You need to update your playback software to handle HDR or DV. VLC will play HDR10 out of the box so you can still get h265, just need HDR10. For DV it's a little more tricky. Maybe when I downloaded the optional media update from Windows Update it somehow made it (and HDR10/10+) work correctly with MPC HC.

I think "an update" means the useless changing Codec in selection dialog ..
.. it's fine to see the bitrates (and audio of course)
but 6221 dl the codec that is set in VIP settings.

I installed an optional media pack on Windows update. I installed a very new version of FFMpeg. The Windows update is likely the culprit but I don't know, playback just suddenly worked.
Googling the topic still yields unhelpful results from years ago.

I found installing the Dolby Vision extension from the Microsoft Store -> https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9p...hl=en-us&gl=US and playing using the windows Media Player app (not the Windows Media Player Legacy), the DV files play back fine, including on my SDR monitors. However even with the DV Extension installed, apps like VLC and such still can not play them.

First post of that thread says not possible on PC, and the thread suggests an Android box. I tried this post from later in the thread -> https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/view...dfff99#p158288 But it Doesn't seem to help with "Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, Profile 5, dvhe.05.06, BL+RPU, no metadata compression" videos.

This WIKI indicates (in the overview section) that DV is not possible on PC -> https://r-htpc.github.io/wiki/hdr#vlc however there is a VLC HDR section, and using those settings makes no difference with dvhe.05.06 files.

Of course HDR10 and DV Profile 7 and 8 which include fall back to HDR10 work.

I have few Profile 5 files, and rarely if ever watch them on my PC, so its not a concern. Just trying for educational purpose.
