Netflix Can download several movies on Netflix only in 540p

I have Netflix Premium and could successfully download some movies in 1080p.

Unfortunately, I have the problem, that I can download several movies only in 540p, although the Netflix Webpage says, that they are available in HD:

(These are the German titles of the movies).

I am using StreamFab All-in-One Downloader 6.2.2.3

Yep, please notice:

Since mid Oct 2023 NF only offers 540p for Sony and Universal Movies, if Widevine
Software Decryption is used. Better quality is only with Hardware Decryption.

... so SF can not dl more than offered
(HD is only with Edge or with App)

Ok, so what possibility do I have to download those movies in 1080p with streamfab? Is there a workaround for that?

There is NO way to get streamfab to download the 540p movies in any higher resolution. You could upscale with software like ffmpeg (you could use the software HandBrake as well) or use Unifab if you have paid for it and that will go through a long upscale process, depending on your computer's GPU and CPU.

Make your own downloader and get l1 or sl3k

Just to confirm, go to

https://www.sonypictures.com/movies

and search for the movie. If it is there, it will only be available in the current version of StreamFab as:
- 540p H264 (in High Profile - with very low bitrate)
- 480p H264 (in Main Profile - usually with higher bitrate).

Everything else should be there in at least 1080p but there are exceptions... I've encountered some weird resolutions here and there (like 720p or 320p), usually for older stuff though.

As Germania explained, it is the SONY decision to restrict access to low resolution with Netflix on any web browser (except maybe Edge). If you stream these movies ont Netflix with your Chrome, Firefox, etc. browser, you will get it in 480p/540p, not in HD (1080p). Thus, StreamFab cannot do more than that.

That's true, but Edge can also use Microsoft PlayReady DRM rather than the usual default Chrome DRM, WideVine. That's where the difference lies.

I have faith the team will achieve it one day. They got us Disney in 1080 which some (RedFox1) said was impossible.
