Very long analyzing and not detecting 1080p

Unsure if there is a change or if they are presently having network issues, but trying to get anything from Hulu right now, it is taking a very very long time to analyze and then it is either stating 1080p is not available or that I am watching too many videos at one time. That is usually indicative of one of two of these problems (code change or network issue). One other symptom is that it is not seeing h265.

Try switching the Hulu codec from h265 to h264. This has been a known issue for over a year, been reported to SF many, many times, and only hits on some episodes

I've given up on this one ever being resolved, but using h264 works without fail on Hulu (for me at least)

That was an issue with those that are using a duo plan account. Something literally just happened today that changed the way they serve the manifest. Maybe everyone gets the new duo-plan manifest now, regardless of plan connected. If that's the case, maybe they will finally look at the issue.
The lack of h265 means you also do not get 4K streams.

All I can tell ya is that I ran into this very issue today, and resolved it exactly how I did.

SF needs to get on this. It's definitely not a "was an issue", it's still going on

Yes, I agree they need to get on it. In my old threads several posts were made where the manifests were there, just not being read by SF.
I would not consider the issue "resolved" if you have to toggle to h264. Like I say, no h265, no 4K. 4K content will probably show you an h265 option, but it will be at a lower bitrate and only HD 1080p.

About a month ago, I was surfing around. There was no separate Hulu or Disney+ that I could find, only the Disney+ with Hulu packages.
In doing searches, I was given an option to trial for 4 months Disney+ and Hulu (both with ads) at about $3/m.

Just now, I only tested a few items on Hulu, but all offered and came in H265 using streamfab.

When I first started with Disney+ and Hulu, Hulu created content came in 4k, now I have trouble finding anything in 4k, even the Hulu made content.
Now with the 4k as I said I could get Hulu created content in 4k, maybe now I am trying wrong items but even Bill Burr_ Drop Dead Years or Hellraiser or Vacation Friends or Only Murderers In The Building, do not come in 4k and seem to be Hulu created content.

In the end, I have to look past not having 4k, as no other provider I use gives it via streamfab. (Although sometimes a regular YouTube video, lol.)

If some are having H265 issues, I hope it gets fixed for them.

ADDED: I went back to 6227 & 6225, still nothing in 4K, Hulu. I don't feel it's our place to keep having to go back to different versions to see if something works or not.

Unfortunately, there are days to be happy when getting 1080p or even 720p, and not 540p, and I do not even want to mention 480.

ADDED #2: I did find that Wolf of Wall Street is not H265 and either gets stuck at analyzing or analyze fails.

I believe they are updating security now (it's not complete though, some accounts still can use old endpoint, thus L3 4K), 4K DV/HDR and SDR (regardless of original content or not) is now need L1.

Thanks for confirming it is not just me. I not doubt have a message from Rain in support telling me to delete my cache or clear my queue.
I was downloading a very popular crime drama TV show and then suddenly h265 went away. Even for episodes I was successful for before.
The thing is, the episodes are closer to 4Gb in h264, but closer to 1.5 in h265. In a pinch, yeah, I still get them but it's double work when you have to replace them later or do your own recoding.

@chris01 does 1080p h265 also require L1 now? Their h265 is as you know 10-bit SDR --- Does Disney+ already use the new format? (It works with my Duo account and anything h265 that is available does work)

I guess the good thing, if there is one, is that the fix is probably also the same fix for Duo accounts.

Well, 10Mbps rates for h.265 are for 4k material, yet SF picks that as 2k, so hopefully it's just another case of a provider messing around with API...

I have h.265 disappear on me etc, but closing and re-opening the provider tab seems to cure that

There are two h265/h2641080p tracks after their update, one is L3 and one is L1, both looked same to me.

things might actually be simpler than they seem, hulu is possibly migrating its delivery network over to d+, otherwise, I can't find an explanation for this appearing in the log (unless that's always been the case):

Here's my two cents:

Up until recently I had the Hulu and Disney+ Bundle deal that was offered last Black Friday. In January/February of this year I started downloading everything I could in H265 and, for the most part, everything I got from Hulu and SOME things from Disney+ (the more recent offerings) were in H265; most older things were at least coming in at H264, but some were 1280x0720 and (gasp) 640x480.

Earlier this week I signed up for a free trial of Paramount+ with Showtime via Hulu, and (I believe) everything I got from the P+S addon was coming in at H265...but now the Hulu stuff was coming in at H264 (or less) unless it was their own original series.

My trial of P+S ends soon and I won't be renewing it, so I'll see if anything changes back once that goes away; in the meantime, I'm "okay" with H264 stuff on Hulu but those things are getting earmarked for if/when this problem gets resolved so that I can try again to get H265. It's a pain in the ASCII but I've been doing this "hold for better quality" dance for years and I'm used to it.

I can't say much about H265, although I did find it on Hulu, I don't recall with Disney+. Disney+ never came in 4K with streamfab, it seems neither are offering as much H265. And it was only Hulu-created content that was in 4K, but it seems either Hulu stopped 4K via browser, even on their own content, or streamfab stopped supporting 4K on the Hulu-created content.

The fix talked about for MAX is only working because MAX seems to still be offering 4K on that content.

Hopefully that's still the issue. Hulu's h265 is very good, would be a shame to lose it.
Comparing Hulu to D+, there are some similarities. In general on D+ if you choose content that is offered in 4K on a set-top box, you will get h265 option on SF. The same holds true on Hulu. It's probably the lowest level of h265 (instead of 10 different bitrates).

Titles don't have 4K doesn't get H265 format anymore with this new change, or rather Hulu API still returns H265 FHD mpd format, but Hulu server side doesn't have these resources and will return 404 for those mpd's.

If titles are missing H265, it could be 404 error, like chris01 say’s and/or streamfab hanging on the 404 and/or hanging trying to find the H264 stream or like streamfab does on Netflix if you choose AV1 and AV1 is not found streamfab hangs till it finds the H264 stream to download.
All one can do is wait and see if it gets fixed in streamfab, to adjust for this.

Last time I tried, I did find some H265 on Hulu, and on streams that did not have H265, streamfab just stuck on analyzing, never even finding the H264.
One thing sadly is to default to H264 and in the download window switch to H265, if streamfab hangs, then try to cancel or exit and just get the H264 stream.

The providers are insistent to keep making changes. For Hulu, going away from H265 does not make much sense. Some other providers are going away from H264, going to either H265 or AV1. Like Netflix seems to be doing, going more towards AV1.
